Omron Blood Pressure Heart Rate Monitor - Review and Demonstration - Excellent Product 

I just bought this same model through Amazon and got it today. My doctor recommended Omron so of course I took her advice. I liked the fact that it came with an AC adapter but quickly learned you need to be calm to get accurate results. The battery operated option will allow me to sit and be calm without having to be close to an outlet. I still have a lot to learn about this product but am glad that I bought it!

My recent brush with doctors and nurses has made me interested in models that don't squeeze the shit out of my arm. OMRON seems to have an el-cheapo "intellisense" model, or two. I'm a skinny person, who used to have BP of less than 120. I got a surprise, visiting the doctar, and found I had 137. More than likely, this was caused by me sitting around on the computar, and eating food late at night, which deposited as visceral fat. I was developing a bulge, which didn't seem to be from external fat layers. After getting a stomach irritation, I accidentally starved myself of 10kg, and lo and behold, my BP dropped back to normal. (I think.)

BTW my newer 755 BT model does not have the hardwired selectable switch but has a memory/ USER 1/2 in its exact location. It is a SWEET unit in that it squeezes FAR less harshly than ANY other model I have ever felt which helps me a lot since I have neuropathy in one arm and the pain is already intense enough. I really do not hope I have to bring it back. Love the batttery and AC supply included too and it should for the $85 I paid for it at Walgreens -- Best model on their shelf.

What about the blue tooth feature, could you get that to work? I have tried two units now and neither would pair with any of my android or ios devices.

The Omron brand of anything health-related seems to be the most accurate.

I have had the BP785N for about a month now...Your cuff looks much different than what came with mine....Is there any details on your one-size-fits-all cuff you can share. Mine is black and says HEM-FL31. The doctor says I need something bigger.

I bought this exact same on for 89 dollars. I sold it because it was inaccurate for me and my big arms. The accu fit cuff is wonderful. I wished that larger cuffs were availible for this model. the big numbers was helpful.

Great device but I have a brand new samsung edge plus phone and followed the directions to a T and for the life of me can not get it to register via the bluetooth. Guess I will be trying the 1 800 number when I remember. Wish some one covered that on these vids.

You mention the option to get 3 readings but did not explain how to get the 3 automatic readings. The written instructions seem to be the same. Do you know?

is 5 series less accurate than 10 series? or is the difference just about the extra features like more memory and bluetooth connectivity etc.? i love the price of 5 series, but want to make sure i am not compromising on accuracy

At the time of taking measurement , the BP monitor , your arm with cuff should be parallel to heart level. You should sit comfortably with back support and on rest for at least 5 minutes before taking the reading. Further , avoid talking and shaking the hand during this time ! Then only you will get accurate result !

do you find the unit accurate? I have this also and I've done three consecutive readings right after another and they differ anywhere from 5mmhg to 10. Or am I just heart attack waiting to happen??

If you get the "Connectivity" model, know that once you turn Bluetooth on, it stays on and will run down your batteries (but at least it does come with an AC adapter, but you'll want to leave it plugged in 24/7). Yeah, you can turn it off, but instead of a simple on/off switch, you have to hold a button down for like 10 seconds each time, until it says "OFF." The iphone app is kind of okay; shows a series of dots on a small graph of your readings. Not sure how useful that would be to your doctor. From what I've read, Omron is still developing the Android app, and from Amazon reviews, having a hard time with it.

The Bluetooth function simply doesn't work... we could not get it to pair with any device, and it eats batteries like candy on Easter morning. And Omron is less than helpful.

You said the model seems to be the best one. Statements like that have no meaning unless you say why. Did you compare it to others for accuracy? How would you know if it is accurate or not? For example. If if says that my bp is perfect t for a couple of years, how would I know if it was giving me very bad results? Your bp is ok but your heart rate shows that you don't do much exercise beyond walking slowly. Go work out. Seriously. People should not think that all is well because their numbers are good when they go see their doctor despite not exercising and eating fast food burgers and chicken every day. Don't wait until the day comes that your numbers are terrible or if you forget to check for awhile, and get a heart attack. Young people have good numbers without trying. Everyone MUST exercise daily and do sone resistance training like weigh lifting in order to avoid bad health after 40. The longer you wait, the harder it is to fix. It's actually fun to work out, especially if you do so with a person who has a good sense of humour. Stop eating lousy, greasy food right now. There is delicious food that is very healthy and easy to find, and not expensive. It's easy to change habits when you are young, but very stressful when your doctor says "do, or die"
