I love your channel. Great advice. I'm real close to going to test drive a 1978 300D. I will use this check list for a pre-purchase inspection. You all are awesome!
Wow. Art is like a Fire Hose of Mercedes Knowledge. I'm going to have to listen to this a couple of times to get it all. Would love for him to talk about specific things and problems he sees in the W111 and W113.
Art, your awesome knowledge, phenomenal depth and masterful competence totally reflect what all present and even aspiring MB owners desire be applied to every MB car. Your approach loudly echoes the company's original moto of " Engineered like no other car." Like. You said hand made to unbelievable not stamped out.
That's exactly what I'm doing, not expecting to find a mint car whatsoever, but definitely have a list in my mind of 'must haves'. I am more than ready to work on what I will finally choose. Number 1 in my book is the least amount of rust.
So well done. Don't worry about the audio on this one; Art's advice comes through loud and clear in mono as well as in stereo. Now, if we were listening to a nice throaty M100, that might be another story... ;-)
This is really great job and important things to discuss BUT I wish he was able go walk around the car during the explaining and show us for example power steering leak problem
Hi from Seattle. I’m most interested in a Mercedes with good RUST prevention. What vintage should I be looking for? I like the older ones, diesel or gas but rust or the susceptibility to rust is a deal breaker.
Pierre, I need help! I have been working on 2 190e, 2.3 and 2.6, and I was planning to sell them with some gain but now I do not want to sell them! I want to keep them!. Mr. Art is right....
While much or most of this may be old hat or common sense to those familiar with Mercedes, I for one, as new to Mercedes and looking for my first one, find this very informative.
As always, thank you, Mr. Pierre, for your outstanding work and knowledge you present to us in the MBZ world, excellent. Also, many thanks to Mr. Art for your valuable advice. Mr. Art, is it possible to get your shop name and address in LA? I would like for you to take care of my MBZs, Much obliged, gentlemen.
@@mercedesclassicswithpierre1753 Hi Mr. Pierre, thank you very much for your prompt reply. I thought Mr. Art lives and works in LA, So CA. We need a good reliable mechanic shop for our vehicles. Thanks again, sir and keep up the good work.
I have a 1999 SL 500 with 121,000 miles having problems finding the part antenna motor. Do you have any suggestions? Also what is the number of miles I can expect on the R129?
