Got a pair pair of Cloud Surfers for first go with ON. Too narrow and not enough give for a wider thicker foot/toes. Had to spread laces as much as possible and did 20k ok, but will not order ON shoes again. They are more restrictive than Adidas. Appreciate in some videos I've watched where you suggest fit for narrow/wider/more volume feet etc.. I need to check out your reviews more often!
Here in Dublin, On shoes available are mostly the ones marketed for "urban running" which combined with the lofty price tag has obviously appealed to...drug dealers. Consequently when I bought a pair my son asked me "why did you buy drug dealer shoes?". lol
@@EDDBUD Sure, which is why it's such a weird marketing term. I don't know what On mean by "ultimate urban running" but here it's been interpreted by the market as "running away from the cops". 😄
Thanks for this review! I’m grateful that On has several lower stack height shoes. I liked the original Cloudrunner up to about 8 miles. I really wanted to like the Cloudstratus, but find it sloppy and slow. I’ve been wearing Cloudultras for everything lately-they’re amazing. Hoping the Cloudflow 4 will be my new go-to for road runs. Also hoping they’ll fix the tongue issue. It’s not like tongue padding adds that much weight!
Edd! Thank you for your comment about cushioning! I agree runners should be more concerned about their physical and mental abilities to run a marathon or any race for that matter than the cushioning of their shoes.
Running in the previous cloudflow currently and I must say I love it for my faster efforts. Nice to hear this version is still nimble enough to get up and boogie! Will be looking to this when my current one is due to replace for now though I will enjoy my current flow state. 🙂👟☝️
I use the On CloudUltra's for my trail runs. By far my favourite pair of trails shoes to date. They just seem to get better and better the more I use them. On the flip side. I bought a pair of CloudFlyers and took them back after 45K as they were way too stiff, flat footed and gave me real lower leg aches. Looking forward to getting a pair of these bad boys though :)
Great review, I have ordered them. Got a good price €135. How comparable to the Speed 2? I am getting hip pain after the run from soft midsole (heel) lately.. Alphafly V1 and New Balance SC Trainer V2 seem to be causing the problem.. Metaspeed Sky Plus or Boston 12 seem to fix it.. Very strange? I am a heel striker and slow runner..
Quick point, the top layer of foam actually IS the Helion HF you mentioned, but I'm hearing consistently that it doesn't quite perform as well as the Helion HF in their racing shoes. Perhaps it would be superior if the Helion HF layer was a bit thicker, or if a greater percentage of the forefoot were made entirely of the Helion HF
Have you heard about the Cloudeclipse Edd? Coming out in the next couple of weeks. Sorta looks like a ForeverRun competitor? A higher stack Cloudsurfer but with the speedboard
Ive allways heard these very bouncey springy edd but what puts me off is the comfort on these shoes as i do lot long distances but im definitely planning on getting some these ive got double marathon on race track next week which takes me 129 marathons these would good for road race and race track definitely not off-road shoe 👍👍
I received my On Cloudflow 4s last week and have done a couple of short runs in them. I like them. They are very comfortable. They are a bit firmer than some other offerings, but I don't like a lot of squish in my shoes. I plan on using these for a lot of my training. I also have a pair of On Cloudrunners which are more of a daily trainer/easy run shoe. I also have some On Cloudultra 2s for trail use. I didn't mean to get a rotation of Ons, but I find them comfortable on foot and I've tried A LOT of shoes lately.
Do you know if the upper holds the ankles so well that no little stone could enter inside the shoes and bother my runs ? ! The On Cloud Eclipse has that " hugging ankles upper" and it is amazing fit that it is totally the opposite that happens in shoes like the Invincible 3 or Adios 7 . Thanks.
I have exactly 1 ON shoe, the cloudsurfer..probably won't get another..that one went flat around 50 miles..probably would be a good every day shoe but not a running shoe..
First run in my 5th pair of React Infinity v1s today, needed the cushion after a lot of running over the weekend. If you're in to your vinyl I could send you a free Kylie Minogue LP.
@@EDDBUD I’ve tried their running shoes (not this one) and walking boots, not for me. Too firm and no real structure or guidance. I was always picking stones out and getting muck out of the holes. All the kids are wearing them now though, so quids in for ON.
