When there's a hole in the fount, that usually indicates a much wider area of damage surrounding the hole inside the fount that can't be seen. Once a fount has been comprimised by rust/corrosion, I consider it unsafe for further use, other than display. A leak of pressurized fuel can lead to severe injury and/or death, and I'm sad to say it has happened in our hobby. To me it's not worth the risk.
