It really is one of the greatest and always will be one of my favorite trilogies of anything though and this may just be me but I felt that there was something off with "The Last Command" somehow it felt like things were jumping around too fast and Thrawn almost felt kinda dumb at times. The Force is the power of the Natural world, it is everything on this plane of Existence and everything (not just emotion driven species) is connected through the Force. I believe that the Force is Anathema to the Warp. As those who use the Warp to some extent reject reality, the Force in turn would reject the Warp and its denizens. While Thrawn is by imperil definition an Abhuman (being an evolutionary offshoot of humanity caused by separation and isolation in various terrain) The Chiss only have three minor borderline cosmetic differences: the rapid rate at which they mentally mature, their slightly above average body temperature, and there blue skin and red eyes. The second and third differences probably wouldn't even be considered leaving the only difference a cosmetic one. Depends entirely on his use to the Imperium, the Imperium gives leeway to those who serve or offer some benefit to the Imperium. If Thrawn decided to attack the Imperium or threaten it, they would declare him a Xenos and attack without thought. however his appearance is close enough to human that if he proved useful or loyal to the Imperium they would gladly give him an abhuman status to justify his continued existence. I doubt Thrawn would care either way, I doubt he'd support the Imperium or attack it, most likely he would aid them only to get close to understand them enough to gauge how large a threat they are and what their weaknesses are. He'd probably hate their military wastefulness and inefficient society, but be extremely interested in the sociological and theological study of them.

Since you like the idea of hearing the perspectives of other universes on the 40k verse, I had written this some time ago, based on AFWTMT's work: Journal entry 0103 This is Professor Nassung, head of team T5, recording. It has been a month since the events at Axum, and luckily the war has reached an impasse, giving the Republic some time to regroup. Be that as it may, we of team T5 have no time to rest. Our current assignment, regarding the study of the Imperial weaponry, is coming along smoothly. We are convinced that our findings will greatly benefit our troops in the field and our own weapons development in the future. I am recording this entry while compiling the current findings for my report and will record a brief summary of said findings for personal use. Our team is tasked with the study of the small arms collected during the battle of Axum. After hearing the reports of the destructive capabilities of the Imperial forces, we were expecting to scrutunize weaponry more advanced than ours. While this proved to be the case for some weapons, we were completely baffled by the...lets call it mixed bag of assorted weapons we received. We devided these utilities of war into several categories. Category 1... the slugthrowers. We were quite surprised by how common these types of weapons were. Why would they use such primitive weapons so widely? Slugthrowers, as is generaly known, are only used by more primitive civilizations and/or in specific situations, seeing as the blaster is the standard across known space. Yet the Imperials use slugthrowers to a surprising degree, ranging from pistols to cannons. While they are less destructive than blasters, it is important to note that they do have some advantages over blaster technology. These include faster projectile speed, less overheating issues, higher rates of fire and easier to manifacture and maintain. It is also important to note that, with most armor tailored to protect against blaster bolts, slugs can be suprisingly effective... depending on the calibre. Category 2... the laser weapons. The laser weapons, or lasweapons as the Imps call them, is the main form of weaponry used by the majority of the Imperial forces. They come in multiple different variants, ranging from pistols and rifles, to gattlings and cannons, to ship based batteries. Those of the small arms variety are similar in power to blasters. Since they don't fire projectiles or bolts, they posses numerous advantages. Namely pin-point accuracy, hardly any recoil, undodgeable and being unaffected by most atmospheric conditions. What was most surprising however, was just how relatively simple these weapons were. Our careful scrutinization of it's inner workings, revealed that the level of technology was simple, reliable, durable and effective. Even some less advanced cultures would be able to produce these. Speaking of which... we noticed a substantial lack of standardisation among the Imperial weaponry. To use the lasrifle as an example... we found models with wooden, plastic and metal stocks. Models with only single shot settings and other with both single and continuous settings. Some were shorter or bulkier. Differences in barel lengths, differences in weight, differences in well, everything. One would think that an Empire would have better standards for their weaponry. From the reports that I've read, it would seem that there was a wide variety among livery, uniforms and colors among their forces. My hypothesis is that each Imperial world produces its own variant of lasweapon for its troops, as a form of national pride perhaps. The one constant however, is its inner workings and.... its ammunition. For most Lasweapons, the ammunition comes in four different standard sizes. A pack for pistols. A smaller and a larger pack for rifles (the most common ones). And an enhanced pack for rifles which allows for more powerfull shots. The ammunition is, in my opinion, it's strongest aspect. Each pack is easy to produce and compatible with every form of lasgun. It even has a solar cell on it, allowing it to recharge in the field. Experimentation has also shown that it can be recharged by placing it near a fire. Though this does damages the packs over time, leading in a drop in capacity.

@commentator4515 11 месяцев назад
Category 3... Bolt weapons Bolt Weapons are among the more devastating small arms wielded by the Imperials. This is reflected by the fact that it's the primary form of small arms used by the supersoldiers, known as the Astartes. In terms of its operation, it functions similarly to a slugthrower. But is significantly more complex, due to it's inbuild electronics used for targeting and the adaptions necessary to fire it's specialized ammunition... the origin of the namesake... the Bolt. The Bolt is in essence a cross between a miniature RPG and a mass-reactive shell. It consists of multiple parts. A solid-fuel rocket propellant base. The outer casing containing conventional charge. Gyrostabiliser. A Mass-reactive fuse with a split-second timer to delay detonation upon impact until after the shot penetrates the target. A Hardened penetrating tip made of an as of yet unknown hard material. The main explosive charge and a dense metallic core. The core ads weight and thus momentum to the round when in flight, aiding in target penatration. The Bolt will penatrate pretty much all known personal armor, some lighter combat vehicles and even it's shell is made to fragment should the shot miss it's target. While none has been acquired, I am certain that this weapon has more specialized forms of Bolts for specific situations. Time will tell. Judging from how they function, these projectiles seem to be made to dispatch most things it their forces encounter. A jack-of-all-trades, if you will. The saving grace is that those hit by it will die instantaneously on a direct hit on anything that ain't a limb. In terms of variants, we have the usual suspects. Everything from pistols to ship mounted weaponry. The heavy Bolter seems to be the one most in use by non-Astartes forces. Aside from some smaller versions of Bolt guns and pistols, used by officers and other non-augmented, special forces. Category 4... Rocket/Grenade launchers and flamethrowers First things first, the Flamethrowers. They are flamethrowers, that's it. I have sent some fuel samples to the guys at lab 6 for analasys. The rocket launchers are what they are. As the notable trend among the Imperial weapons, there exist a wide variety of them, but unlike their guns are more standardized. We have heavier and lighter models, one-shot models... you name it, they got it. As for ammunition... here we have a much wider variety than compared to the GAR. We have found the standard Anti-Tank rockets, Anti-personel fragmentation rockets. Rockets that disperse smoke and rockets that disperse smoke along with IR bafflers and a form of broadband EM spectrum chaff. Highly effective, I might add. We also found some anti-air missiles and even a couple of rockets that disperse miniature grenades over a wide area. It's important to note that each Rocket launcher can use any of the afformentioned munitions. As a final note I will say that I suspect that the Imperials might have rarer forms of munitions at their disposal that we have yet to see. Then there are the grenade launchers. Self-explanatory. The fire a variety of grenades. Most, if not all, have (or will lickely have) a rocket counterpart. We have found the standard fragmentation grenades, smoke grenades, EMP grenades and even Plasma grenades. Some more peculiar grenades seem to contain hallucinogenic or fear-inducing gas. Asside from a few more exotic types of ammunition, these weapons are all self-explanatory. Category 5...Melta weapons This is most definitly the type of excotic weaponry we were expecting. Melta weaponry is probably a derivative from plasma weaponry, as it uses a blast of intense heat to destroy its target. The weapon operates by inducing a minute, sub-molecular reaction within a highly-pressurised fuel mix within it's ammunition's canister before expelling it through the barrel. A sample of the fuel mix has been sent to Lab 6 for analasys. The weapon is farely short ranged, but the heat blast will melt all, but the most heat resistant or shielded of materials. Like using a flamethrower to melt wax. The analasys of its inner workings are still ongoing, but the weapon has shown to be not very complex...for now at least. Category 6...Plasma weapons Wow...where to begin with these. They are plasma weapons. Similar to blasters they shoot, a ball of superheated plasma, which will positively destroy nearly anything it hits. Even the Imperial pistols are powerfull enough to neutralize lighter, armored vehicles. Having said that... what is wrong with those people!? Their plasma weaponry has proven to be incredibly unstable and poorly designed. Their Plasma Weapons make use of hydrogen fuel suspended in a liquid state in either fuel flasks or backpack containers. The flasks have to be screwed in. Something that is slow, inefficient and dangerous. As the fuel is fed into the miniature fusion core inside the weapon, the hydrogen energises into the plasma state of matter which is held in the core by powerful magnetic containment fields. When fired, the fields dilate open and the plasma is ejected via a linear magnetic accelerator as a bolt of superheated matter akin to a solar flare in appearance and temperature. It would seem that Imps prioritized firepower over everything else. While it has some safeties build in, it would seem that they are more to protect the gun than the wielder. I suspect that only madmen, suicidals and criminals are forced to use these. Though the battle reports refute this. We had one of the droids test it out. We ordered it to keep firing...the gun overloaded and incinerated the test chamber. The droid was slag, but the gun was intact. A quick note... this particular gun had a bunch of names carved into it. We suspect those of whom wielded it in the past. Another peculiarity is, that when professor Harper decided on whim to have the gun dated by the guys at Lab 6, they found that the gun had been in use for 200 years. This is made me wonder...why haven't they updated and improved it? And why keep something in service for that long? What else in their arsenal is as old, if not older than that? This Imperium of Man is an enigma. This concludes this entry of my Journal. Professor Nassung signing off.

I think the thing with Thrawn's analysis is that this is what he's giving to Palpatine as a report. Palpatine has never been... as data oriented as Thrawn would be. Sure his command of the Dark Side is powerful, but it's never been quite as nuanced as noticing something so small as the details of a culture's art and even how they decide to place their houses of worship. He's leaving out small details that he knows that the Emperor would not be interested in, and that he's not certain of. He's missing details that fans would know because they have a wider view of the whole situation. He's ignoring the artistic aspect because again he knows that Palpatine is not an art analyst and will miss the parts that he would get and understand. And even with that, his assessment is that he still Does Not Know What To Do... The Imperium is so vast, so monolithic in style and culture, that artistic analysis is useful in general terms but unless he got the art of a specific world or regiment he'd have to work from basic principles. If there was one person who I think would truly appreciate Thrawn, and vice-versa, it would be Trazyn the Infinite.

Thrawn would have to look even deeper to probably find the answers to the powers needed to stop entities like the Warp and the Tyranids. We know the Tyranids genestelaers cult can be found out through high amounts security so implementing strageies of detections like genetic testings and sensory should be able to find them out if developed and utilized properly. New agile and armed movable droids and better equipped men with better armor and sensories detection equipment established into task forces and divisions would have to sweep them out if they live in the deep tunnels of city planets and more efficient types of surveillance to most easily find them before they get out of control. As for the Warp properties like Gellar Fields would need to be developed utilized more effectively and something similar in nature to the Necrons Pylons would have to be researched even if has to be in prototype designs even if they would end up hurting the Jedi and Sith and force users in general this would have to be needed. I would also recommend containment and offensive procedures such as if this is a localized regional area and you are dealing with Ork spores I would recommend plasma, neutron, or any kind of fire based chemical bombardments and sweepings to put these types of infestations down for good. Deployable flying drones and senior drones would be good to sweep these things more thoroughly then the Imperium of Man's performance at sweeping them usually do. And these types of protocols would good to use against the Yuuzhan Vong's inflitarations as well.

@chankljp

Assuming we are talking about TNG/DS9 era Federation, I think Thrawn will very quickly realize that the UFP is sort of like an 'Anti-Imperium'. In that while the culture and ideology might make them seem like a bunch of pacifist weaklings, or in the words of the theory discussed in the video, a 'prey society', it would be better compared to a 'Master-crafted blade left to rust due to neglect and lack of use'. All things considered, just because the UFP don’t start wars and avoid conflict doesn’t mean they are incapable of finishing them. In its history the Federation has won every single war it fought, often times against much more aggressive 'predator societies' such as the Romulans, the Dominion, and the Borg, that in theory should overwhelm them if the UFP really were a bunch of hippies. Plus, the Federation have lots of tech that they use for peaceful civilian purposes or kept locked away which can be militarized if they ever decide to do so. TLDR: The United Federation of Planets might be a prey society, but it is a prey that is more than capable to defending itself, and you provoke at your own peril. For if put into a dangerous environment for an extended period of time, if you take away their holodecks, replicators, and sonic showers, it can realize its own strength, and evolve into an apex predator.

Final Conclusions and Recommendations: i don't know what do do, but we must INVEST HEAVILY in upgrading our military forces, especially our space forces if we hope to survive this onslaught. As it stand we currently lose dozens of our line ships for every one of their "cruiser" analogues we have taken down and boarding actions are incredibly one sided. However, our most crippling disadvantage is their vastly superior ranged firepower. their Sun Cannon especially can annihilate entire battlegroups from far beyond any ability to reply. We must create ships of a similar scope and power and tougness. A "Super star destroyer" of sorts. I recommend taking the Mandator II as the baseline and significantly enhancing its capacities as a true warship. The Praetor would also make an excellent candidate for a through program of upgunning and defensive refits. as for combat personel, The Blazetrooper and Darktrooper program offers promise to addressing the massive power imbalance with the Astartes, not a 1 to 1 match but a significant closure in the gap nonetheless. Furthermore, we need NUMBERS. Massive expansion of clone production lines is essential as is the re-purposing of al captured CIS assets especially their droids as expendable fodder. Military recruitment among all planets must be driven into overdrive. Each world must be made into as formidable and self-sufficient a bastion as possible. Anti orbital batteries and Theatre or planetary shield generators must be provided to as many worlds as possible to maximize any investment in attack and minimize it in the defence. there are many more recommendations i have... but these are the most urgent to redress the crippling power imbalance especially in the all important field of space control. Thrawn explaining the Imperium being only so brutal as a result of the terrifying monsters and abominations they must face constantly like an animal only being as terrible as it must be to survive is perfect People nowadays misrepresent the imperium as an evil system while downplaying the severity of the situation it finds itself surrounded by, the Imperium of Man like Thrawn put it is prey that is the way it is because it has been preyed upon for over 10,000 years by unspeakable terrors and hostile aliens, as opposed to the Humans in star wars that grew up in a pretty safe neighborhood If they for example existed in an environment with things like the Yuuzhan Vong, their attitude on aliens may be a little differently The Imperium of Man is probably Evil, although I would call their evil a grim necessity when the difference between a Genestealer uprising or a Chaos rebellion slaughtering an entire planet is a Inquisitor setting aside their conscience to snuff them out before they can do harm on a planetary scale, or a guard Regiment slaughtering Xenos to the last when over the course of the Imperium's existence this has proven to be a must when things like Orks don't quit or hostile aliens during the Great crusade showed that co-existance was most likely impossible, as opposed to something like Dark Eldar who're Cruel not only out of necessity but reval in the cruelty and endless suffering they can inflict for as long as suffering can be drawn out

Id love to see an objective star wars galaxy vs 40K galaxy video like the ones pancreas no work did for halo. As like his halo videos the modern star wars galaxy would probably hold up well for many of the same reasons he puts in his videos. As long as its the legends galaxy not the cannon galaxy as that eould get splattered. Thinking maybe a Legends galactic civil war era galaxy with bits of cannon stuff like the onager star destroyers MC-75s ect mixed with the legends content of the eclipse SSDs death star prototypes (no sun crusher except for a funny side story cause you think 40k tech is OP) and other things such ss engagement ranges cause i do believe in the books star wars ships dont always engage at point blank age of sail style ehich is why things like the torpedo sphere (my beloved) and diamond boron missiles existed in legends. This video clearly takes place in the Republic era as thrawn refers to palpatine as the chancellor (which i do believe thrawn would not have been an admiral during that time period, at most i believe he was an advisor from the chiss in legends vs cannon where he was an "exile" but not really). I do believe the star wars Galaxy when not going one on one with the imperium would hold out pretty easily simply due to the same reason all other factions in 40k hold out cause no faction can destroy another without getting destroyed or heavily injured by another. Not to mention star wars technology can hold up pretty well to its imperial counterparts i mean they primarily use a type of plasma weapon for almost everything which is pretty top tier in 40k though i would say at least eith hand held blasters they are a step down but disruptors and other weapons would definitely be a interesting sight (disruptors vs space marines anyone?) . Also as thrawn states the star wars galaxy does have the advantage of technological progression though i do know the star wars galaxy has its own issues with stagnancy and regression. They also probably have a production advantage due to that reason. Id bet my left nut that in the imperial legends era the star wars galaxy has marketably more active warships than the imperium and maybe the entire 40K galaxy. Doubtlessly many of them are smaller and of doubtful effectiveness on their own but the star wars galaxy can produce more ships and LARGER ships vs the imperium who i believe cannot produce s majority of their largest battleships like we see at. Cadia i believe? Where that one battleship sacrificed itself to destroy a fleet. Or maybe it was att maccrage against the nids i cannot remember entirely. But the empire in only a couple decades of existence produced over 25000 star destroyers of the imperial 1/2 variety and possibly of other types ifk if that number includes tectors and the legends Allegiance battlecruiser and just the numerous other types that exist in legends and even cannon in this time period. And then also dozens of dreadnaughts over or near 10 miles in length which doubtlessly i feel could go up against similar sized imperial vessels and again ignoring new vessels we know that the galaxy has a boatload of older vessels going back thousands of years such as the invincible class dreadnought which during the civil war was in use by sll sides and over 3k years old. This has gone on long though there theres more I'm thinking of like could the force and warp be related or would they cancel each other out in the others galaxy ect. But enough cause i dont think many people are gonna read this far or even care snd go "imperium wins cause its the imperium" thats a copout and you know it.

Phaser technology is so powerful that a standard side arm is able to destroy a miles long aqueduct at half power and vaporize entire rooms of opponents and replicator technology always ensures that their logistics are almost never gonna be a problem in comparison to the Imperium. Yes the Imperium is big and has some really big guns and ships, but the Federation would be punching well beyond their weight class against the Imperium and it wouldn't be that difficult, Psykers would be the only major concern in terms of space battles. Do to facts that despite Imperium is stupidly (over the top) powerful, its logistic suck a$$ and Imperial Navy could relatively easy conquer or destroy all Imperium controlled crucial worlds without as single space battle. Astra Militarum, Adeptus Astartes, Adeptus Mechanicus, Officio Prefectus, Inquisition and others would worth nothing if they will be parish following order Base Delta Zero (orbital bombardment for total annulation). And it would took even standard Imperial fleet (15-25 capital space ships) less than 20 minuets to kill billions if not trillions on planetary surface of important Hive Worlds and reduce its resources to nothing. Or just stacked on now isolated and nearly uninhabited planet with no chance to do anything about it for next few hundreds years. If they did not die out first or got conquered by other WH40K fractions. By the moment fleet of Imperium reached on attacked planet, another 10 would be damaged beyond repair. All because travelling thought literal Hell taking 10 times more than fabulas hyperspace jump. D@mn, they (Imperials) could even spite their forces to raid such important planets such Kriege, Mars and Holy Terra semantically, just to piss of Imperium forces who would never catch them. Maybe even destroy whatever remained of so-called "God-Emperor" to put this fragile totalitarian intergalactic empire to total chaos. And it would be logical for Galactic Empire to scorched earth strategy without forward intervening into this Galaxy. The thing is over time the empire is going to have to fight the imperiums battles for them. Relieving other forces, if your empire doesn’t win by a lightning war many of 40ks evils will see these new comers as fresh meat. In only a matter of 200 years the Star Wars universe will be bloated with genestealers, drukari raids, and the spread of chaos worship if you storm troopers had to garrison a planet. Chaos space marines would go head first into imperial forces just so they can be the only ones to destroy the imperium. And the thought of a imperial fleet going to terra un aware of the most defended system in the galaxy and see world ending nightmares the custodians keep guarded under the palace. On top of the *TRUE EMPEROR* being the most powerful force user in the universe even while dead and fighting four chaos gods at the same time is scary. 40k will sink its teeth in Star Wars and hold on tight just to see it bleed out for a laugh.

@@crowe6961 The IoM exterminated peaceful Xenos who were genetically and culturally predisposed to help others for funsies, and the Chiss are 100% an alien species -not mutant or human-descended. The Chiss quite literally have very few connections to human biology, if any.

25:50 honestly, Commissar, Picard _or_ TNG, I can't help but expect that the "ideas" of the snooty little bastard who actually called a US Army dress uniform a fucking _costume_ in one of his early interactions with what arguably amounts to a High Warp Entity would be pretty much the same I-am-human-enough-to-Replicate-bare-latinum-by-drooling-it-but-I-am-too-enlightened-to-bother bullshit.

sums it up universe vs universe 40k will eventually win haha :D if they cant compete without being crititcal dmg to war assets for custos then the other factions universe v universe its game over for star wars.

It's not really as clear cut as you seem to think it is, a Custodes may be difficult to kill on the ground but in a spaceship he's as easy to kill as a common Guardsmen, either he gets atomized by turbo laser fire or he floats out into the vacuum of space for all eternity. In a war between their respective Navy's unless the Imperium gets their Warp Drives stabilized like in Warhammer vs Star Wars vs Warhammer then the Republic Navy vs the Imperium Navy would be one of the most mismatched forms of attrition warfare imaginable. The Republic has far faster and more reliable FTL and communication systems than the Imperium could ever hope to match meaning any halfway competent Republic officer could outmaneuver an Imperium fleet with ease and trap them in deadly pincer maneuvers. What's worse the Republic's ship yards construct new ships in a matter of months while the Imperium can take about a century to make even a single ship. And that's not even getting into the fact that the Republic/Empire would be rapidly developing their technology to close the power gap between their weapons and the Imperiums, and weapons that were previously considered Illegal like the T-7 Ion Disruptor, which were illegalized for being too cruel, would suddenly become army killers as entire armored divisions of Guardsmen, Astartes, and potentially even Custodes, get vaporized as their technology gets fried with so much ionic energy that their technology gets fried beyond repair.

13th Grand Admiral ... yes Love him. we do, He had 1 flaw. Same as the Emperor. He didn't understand people didn't truly cared for his crew and captains.

I mean not understanding the intricacies of human interaction isn't the same as not caring about people, at least in the Disney Canon, Thrawn may view Non-Chiss through the lens of asset or nusance before he views them as people but that doesn't mean he denies their personhood, it just isn't normally the first thing on his mind if you aren't a Chiss He cares about his crew plenty.
