ive always liked ciara renee's leading player: hers always seemed a little more malicious to me, especially in the opening "you look frenzied" line. her arm movements there are so sudden they almost seem more like an attack, whereas patina miller's version begins with a softer presentation sort of motion.
When Ciara and Kyle break into the synchronized dance, they're smiling at each other. Not because they're staying in character, but because they're saying "we're fucking killing it."
I saw them perform in NYC. IT WAS AMAZING! I actually sat with some students who were in classes with Kyle Dean. (And they referred to him using both names). The only problem with Ciara was that they didn't adhust the makeup to her skin tone. Drove me crazy throught the whole show! She's much fairer than Patina, and her makeup should have been toned down. I found itdistracting. But they are amazing performers!
This is absolutely phenomenal Ciaras vocals are just amazing and the only reason I prefer Ben's leading player is the dancing in this scene with him is so amazing
This # always makes me crack up... 1) Pippin is always played by a very attractive, sexy guy (Kyle is YUM 😋), 2) The LP is totally seducing Pippin and he’s so naive, and 3) this looks SO FUN I have to say, PATINA was a much better dancer... 🤷🏽♂️
how dreadfully poor, over and very pushed over acting, dance steps for the sake of step to fill in time as opposed to tell a story, and mediocre vocals. he fits in with the low Broadway standard of today. Watch this song done from the orignal and then watch this and you will be able to get a sense of how mundane this performance is.
I personally enjoy both casts, but I think it's clear these two have superior vocals to the original cast members. Ben Vereen is a phenomenal dancer, but his vocals tend to get sloppy in favour of the dancing.
Craig Slivka Have you see the entire show ever? Doesn’t matter if it was on Broadway or not, but that is how the show is stylized. It’s meant to show the dream world that Pippin created in his head. Leading player doesn’t actually exist in Pippin’s reality. She is a figment of his imagination, hence the choppy over acting seen in this video. :))
