Cave exploration deep beneath the marble mountains of NZs Kahurangi National park. Based at an underground camp a team of cavers attempt to extend the length of the length of the Bulmer cave system by digging, climbing and diving.
You make the best caving videos. I know nothing could compare to actually being there, but I feel like you translate the feeling of being in caves fantastically.
When you called that "a couch" in camp 2, 600m underground, I really experienced an acute empathy for your redefinition of poverty! Reminds me of the Monty Python skit about walking to school 15 miles every day through six feet of snow, working 25 hours a day eight days a week at a cost of 10 pence, and the luxury of living in a shoe box in a pothole in the middle of the road. I almost shed a tear for you, but then I remembered that you're completely bats! Thank you for filming, and letting us all know!
@@KieranMckayNewZealandCaving Thanks Kieran, that would be amazing. I shall get my details to you soon. I imagine you shouldn't be to hard to find. Well, when not in a cave 👍
It was a bit sad for Mike the climber. However the shaft still goes up and up. We are now over 140 metres off the ground and with lights that can see over 50 metres we cannot see the top. It is a very impressive and awe inspiring place. Going back there next week to continue the climb and will post a little doco about it :-)

@@KieranMckayNewZealandCaving Thanks for all your videos! I got my first taste of caving last summer at rats nest cave Canmore Canada and I loved it! Your explorations are truly amazing!
Dang, can you imagine being wiped out from your last climb, crawling into your bag and passing out only to have some bastard next to you snoring like a stuffed up steam engine...!
