I can relate so badly to Emma I too have been alone my entire life and no one has ever been their for me. And I recently made some amazing friends and they are my family and I cant lose them. This is why I love Once Upon A Time.
I think it was very good until Cora died. So 2x16 is the last episode that was really great. The rest 6 episodes of the 2nd season and the season 3A were also good but not on the high level anymore as the first 1 1/2 were. And since Season 3B it just started to evolve plot holes everywhere. I mean zelena being Regina's sister is such a bad writing. She was never mentioned before, because the writers haven't planned her before. And why the hell did they create another curse? It was so special in 3x11 when the first curse vanished. But they were afraid to take the risk to move on without storybrooke. That led to a third curse in season 5, a fourth curse in the season 6 finale and two additional curses in season 7, which was all in all way too much. Until 3x11 the dark curse was the highest thing someone could ever do and Regina did it. And that's it. Pan tried to, but Gold and Regina could stop it by undoing their curse. That should've been it. Since Season 3B the dark curse is just something everyone can use whenever they can. They can even cast it without crushing someone's heart like the black fairy did, although the 2nd episode of the first season explains very deeply that without crushing the heart of the thing you love most, the curse won't be activated. Besides, in season 1 to 3A it was said multiple times that Rumple invented the curse and in season 4 they rewrote it into Rumple stealing it from a monster. And in season 6 they rewrote it into the black fairy being the inventor of the curse. In 6x19 the black fairy even said to Regina "I've invented the dark curse. All of it." wtf... Regina created the people's characters and the town after her wishes, which was also said multiple times in the first 2 and a half seasons. Furthermore, they failed to create more emotional scenes after the first two and a half seasons. I mean Neal's dead in 2x21 was at least for me more emotional than his actual death in 3x15. It was so sad that he just died. Originally he should've died in season 2 but the writers changed it, propably because they saw the huge love emma and Neal had for each other. But they failed to explore it. Instead they just killed Neal off and went on with Captain Swan. It would've been okay if there would be any explanation. Hook just started to love Emma suddenly in season 3. Before there were way more love felt between Emma and Neal. Snow and Emma had so much emotional scenes, as well in the first two and a half seasons. But they didn't had any strongly emotional ever since. After Cora died the show didn't know where to go. They just rewrote Greg from a stranger who made it randomly into town to someone who already knew storybrooke and Regina. Suddenly Greg and Tamara work for pan, who kidnappes Henry. It was too much connection between the characters. Neal being Emma's lover and golds son was a good twist. But that should've been it. Pan turned out to be Golds father, Zelena being Regina's long lost sister, Ingrid being emma's foster mom, Hades being zelenas lover, etc... They show was so good. And Cora really was the last villain who fitted in to the show in a very natural way. In the promos they called her the mother of evil because Regina is the evil queen, which was actually a really good promotional quote. I mean the mother of evil... that must've been more evil than people could imagine and Cora was exactly like that. The black fairy was just a bad copy of what the writers had planned for Cora to be in the first seasons. Rumple was also not the villain. In the first 2 and a half seasons he was evil, yes, but he wasn't the main villain. The charming didn't fight him. They fought Regina and Cora and after Cora died Regina and Gold helped them sometimes. But since gold came back in season 3B, they rewrote it. Gold became the antagonist in season 4 and Regina helps now the charmings. The other way was better. Gold was so much too emma, he was a mentor for her in a way. Later Regina is and he is the villain who always makes wrong decisions. All in all, I'm pretty sad in which direction once upon a time went. They only focused on the main characters in the end, they didn't gave the minority characters a chance to grow. Ruby and Whale developed a relationship but it was never dealt with it anymore or Ruby and Belle. Mulan and Aurora, Mulan and Belle, etc. Everything was just being pushed aside to focus on Emma and her family (including Regina and gold) fighting the new enemy who would appear every 11 episodes (since season 3).
