Why Once Upon A Time In Hollywoods Ending Is So Memorable. Once Upon a Time In Hollywood is a great movie. Its a compelling story, with all of the Tarantino qualities fans of his work know and love. It's arguably his most tame film to date in terms of violence and subject matter, but the movie doesn't hold back in some areas. With it intersplicing the real life tragedy of Sharon Tate and and others at the hands of the Manson family, the film offers a surreal yet sinister tone. And while we know what unfortunately happened in real life, Tarantino offers what could be described as a wishful ending. So today, we'll be discussing his ending and Why It's So Memorable.

Just like "Inglourious Basterds", "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood" isn't a story about what happened...It's a story about what should have happened.

Keep doing you bro, the way this channel is laid out in its presentation is awesome! Really think you could be a popular figure. Maybe try adding an animated version of yourself in your videos or something of that nature to give it more style, and revamp your channel logo to make you stand out! Really think you have something here!

I really appreciate ya for this. The channel is a work in progress and I'm learning as I go. At some point I know im either going to have to show myself or animate myself to add some pizzazz to my videos. Your suggestions definitely help. Thank you! Ps if you know anyone who does animation I'd be interested lol. ✊🏾

Excellent analysis. Loved it. The first modern western. Takes place at the end of the New West.

Definitely a film that covers multiple genres, with an extreme emphasis on the western. Thank you for watching! 🙏🏾

Bruh, during my first viewing of this and a HUGE QT fan, I had no idea what was going on. However, being a said QT fan, I knew that no shot was wasted and that the story would come together. I believe there was a deleted scene with Manson and I said to myself, "that guy looks like Manson." After research and a 2nd,3rd and 4th viewing, this is now my second favorite QT film. As always, well done brotha💪🏾

Yo, I feel that becasue I felt the same way. But more so that the film was just a bunch of random events that were kind of all over the place and I couldnt really tell where it was going. This is pretty typical for Tarantino, but I definitely enjoyed how it all tied together. Very rarely are shots wasted in Tarantino movies, even the drawn out scenes I feel have purpose. And nice, I'm not sure it'd be my 2nd, but I'm not mad that it's yours! What is your favorite of his? And thanks bro, I appreciate the support as always! ✊🏾

@@itakeonmovies The scene where the ladies/TeamMansons were going around town singing had me all types of confused before I realized what/who they were 🤣. My favorite QT is Inglorious Bastards. My dark horse 3rd is Death Proof. I don't count Pulp Fiction because it's Pulp Fiction🔥
@itakeonmovies
@itakeonmovies 2 года назад
Lol the only reason I wasn't confused is because I was familiar with the song unfortunately 😔. It's an actual song by Manson from the 60s so when I seen that I knew exactly who they were. And word! If we're not counting Pulp Fiction becasue that's obviously #1, Inglorious would be my 1 as well. After that is where my list can go a couple different ways with Once Upon a Time being in the mix.

Tarantino has an almost holy reverence for that era of Hollywood which is very apparent throughout the movie, so it's no surprise he took a fanfiction shot at what could be seen as the catalyst for its end. Of course everyone, Tarantino included, know that it wasn't the Manson murders that caused that era to end, no single event can ever do something like that, but it's nice to dream of what was and what could have been for want of a single small change.
@itakeonmovies

Spot on! I definitely think Tarantino understands that as well. He knows the Manson murders are a footnote in the end of that decade. Which is why I liked his using of the Manson family as more of an undertone instead of the main focus. The film's main focus is his love of the era. ✊🏾

the film focuses on the Tate aspect because the LaBianca murders would never have even been attempted. if the events of the film were real life, the family probably wouldn't have ended up at the LaBianca household, they'd probably be making an attempt at fleeing the state after things went that horribly at the Tate/Dalton residences.

I would love a movie just about cliff He definitely gives a Brock Samson From venture brothers vibe.

That is actually a great comparison! And I would hands down watch a film about Cliff. Although, I have to say I kinda like the mystery that is his character.

I wish I could say I'm as interested in Cliff as you are. I enjoyed when Rick and Cliff worked off each other and of course the end but Cliff's misadventure didn't get me on rewatch, same with Sharon. One reason might be the fact that Cliff is mysterious. I love when we really get to know a character and you get that from Rick, plus he was fortunate enough to have both Cliff and the little girl to work off of unlike Sharon. Also Rick didn't get dirty foot fetishized like Sharon which kind of hurt her character imo lol
@itakeonmovies
@itakeonmovies 2 года назад
I hear ya. I can completely see why ypu feel that way. Rick is definitely a more fleshed out character and in a way is the only defined character in the movie. Personally that's what I loved about Cliff though. The fact he was an enigma. The complete opposite to Rick. They work well off of each other becasue they are so different. I read a quote by Tarantino also explaining why Sharon wanst in the film a whole lot and it's simply becasue we knew little about her when she was alive. So I thought it was a cool artistic choice to kind of have her as this character who just gets to go about her daily life. And yeah it wouldn't be a Tarantino film without the feet. Lol

@@itakeonmovies Yeah I think I may need to watch it again with that in mind instead of trying to get something out of Cliff that was never supposed to be gotten, appreciate you

Yeah I think he was deliberately kept mysterious, but you're interpretation is always welcome here. I love hearing aspects of the film's other either didn't like or loved. Hope to hear from ya again! 🙏🏾

only saw this movie recently: not unhappy i saw it, had some good tense scenes , but don't think it'll be in my top 3 QT films all-time. hmm what are those? Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction, aaaaaand.....Kill Bill (part 1 , if i can't claim both parts together) well damn, Inglorious Basterds does have some truly excellent acting scenes in it. guess that kicks out KB for third place 😄

I like Once Upon A Time of course, but it wouldn't be in my top 3 either. And it'd be really difficult for me to come up with my 3 favorites because most of his catalog I'm a fan of most of basically all his work lol. I will say my list would probably look a lot similar to yours.
