Partnership with Russia is incredibly dumb. It's a surefire way of turning the West against you for starters, and they have the orders of magnitude more resources than Russia. And what do you gain? Some military gear that will soon be obsolete? The interests of Russia are not the interests of Africa. Africa has the most to lose from climate change, Russia has the most to gain. Russia is a European Imperialist just like any other; the reason they didn't have any African colonies is because they couldn't.
