Ciao everyone! I got my hands on this classic tee shirt dress from Duffield Design (link below) - it's a minimalist and capsule closet staple. I challenged myself to style it for all seasons, I hope it inspires you to be playful with some of your own closet staples!

I counted 23 options, you really inspire me. Combinations using and reusing accessories making it easier to see what's worth investing in as core pieces and then maintaining them in good condition. Obviously we are not all as slim or beautiful as you, but none the less you are certainly helping me think about these principles on my body shape. 😘🌟🌟 thank you for your time and effort in sharing these videos. I agree. I used to gravitate to dresses like that when I was younger cos of the simplicity but then I started feeling like I needed more shape/structure in my clothing cos I'm quite curvy and if I don't work with my shape I just look fat. But this video (and other of her videos) shows me I can manipulate a silhouette thru layering, draping etc. Cool!

I try on outfits at home like this when I buy a new piece to make sure it's versatile in my wardrobe. If not, I return it usually. Let me just say it's tiring changing clothes lol 😂 which is why shopping is not my favorite pastime. Thanks for doing all the work for us!!!

Hey Alyssa, I love when you do these videos where you show the potential of an item of clothing. Really helps me to think outside the box for my current pieces and for when I'm thinking to purchase something new. I would love to see you do 1 of these videos for a wrap dress. Seeing a lot of these on fashion boards of late but not in terms of versatility but I look at them and think surely that's a versatile item of clothing. Would love to see your perspective

I love the edginess of so many of these outfits and how much it emphasised the importance of good basics! (I also REALLY loved that scarf!) The color of that dress I could never get away with but it was a good demonstration of how a well designed dress that suits your body type and closet can be SO versatile (for me I'm thinking grey or a pinky beige; I already have this kinda dress in black but as so many of my accessories are also black it doesn't provide a statement AND I don't like to wear black in summer)

I'm an Aussie so I get the whole thing with heat but my mum's always gone on about not needing so much outerwear (yeah, it gets chilly sometimes) if you know how to layer properly. This chic is like the QUEEN of layering and really shows you the potential of your wardrobe and it's especially great for traveling/packing ideas. There's this chic called Sarah Murdoch who's more MY age and not so much about fashion but making the most of your travel wardrobe - she thinks outside the box too (I love her)

loved the jeans with that dress.... Girl you are absolutely brilliant .... I have quite a few outfits I can make with my dress (its a linen one not a knit material) but no where near as many as you have there... although now you have shown me the jeans I am going to pull out my leggings and see how they go .. remembering I am older and wider and shorter than you are lol

Really like this too!!! My d-i-l is tall (and she doesn’t like her legs) so the dress is too short for her, however, I’m thinking I can look for a similar dress that is below the knees... Also, she has 4 boys and she does home school... helps other moms at the co-op home school program... always bending over helping kids, etc... Short dresses won’t work. I like that you use many of your accessory shirts, sweaters, and jackets with a number of your dress combo videos. It tells me that we should buy my d-i-l some of those staple go-to items for her wardrobe... she has a birthday. Thank you... I send your vids to her... She thinks you are so fun!

I love your videos! I want to try really hard to work towards a more minimal wardrobe, I desire simplicity in my life. I have a question for you- I love all of these stylings, however for myself I struggle with layering. You have a lovely narrow frame and they look wonderful on you. I am more hips and thighs, so I would feel bulky and clumsy in jeans under a dress. Any bonus tips on layering/creating interest while not feeling too...”thick”?

Jennifer S hey Jennifer! Thanks so much for watching, I’m glad you like these videos! Great q about layering - it’s tough to not feel bulky! I would recommend focusing on layering your tops and keeping layers light. If you’ve got a small waist then belt it! A thin turtleneck or cami layered under a cardigan, long vest or blazer could work - and adding a belt is a great accent. Draping long lightweight scarves is also a nice way to add a layer and some colour (wouldn’t recommend tucking into belt as I did for your body type). Finally, if you liked the dress over pant look I would invest in some opaque tights - they’re thinner but still achieve the same layered look - even something with a feminine polka dot in neutral colours could be nice! I was thinking similarly. As a curvy woman, I have a hard time layering. I have big arms and bigger chest so the scarf look would be terrible for me. But I loved a lot of the suggestions Alyssa! I like the jean jacket and white sneakers the best!

I'm definitely an hour glass (and I know a lot of women are jealous of that but, well, I'm learning to appreciate it and that's all I'll say to that) and in the past I've struggled cos I love classic lines (think Audrey Hepburn) or boho. But I'm slowly learning to work with what I have to still get looks I love - it's just a matter of inspiration and experimentation. It's great to discover vloggers like Alyssa who challenge and inspire you to think outside the box in order to achieve the look you want or to maximise your wardrobe's versatility (or both)
