[Some scenes, of Jon and Audrey, seem to be missing.]
Gabrielle and Max discuss Al’s ear infection and hearing loss. Max says the doctor told them it would take some time for the medication to work, but Gabrielle is worried nonetheless. Max says if it will make her feel better, they can take Al for a second opinion. At that moment, Bo arrives and says he has news about Megan. Gabrielle takes Al to the hospital herself and Bo tells Max that Austin has taken Megan. Max suggests calling in Marco, who was among the last people to see her. Megan and Viki lament their situation and try to come up with a plan to save the Buchanan men, but Austin returns and says there’s no way he isn’t going to win in the end. Viki pleads with Austin to show some mercy. Austin pours gasoline all over the floors and carpets in the apartment and then leaves to meet Sarah. Sarah tells Roger that Austin has Megan. Roger says they need to involve the police, but Sarah says Austin will kill both hostages if she called the police. Roger suggests an alternative: he can call Clint and the two of them can act as Sarah’s backup; she reluctantly agrees. Sarah gets a note telling her to meet Austin in the wine cellar.
Outside the wine cellar, Clint and Roger tell Sarah they are going in and she’s going to wait outside and get help if anything goes wrong. They enter the room and, after looking around for clues, Clint spots the out-of-place bricks leading to Austin’s tunnel. Moments after the two men remove the bricks and enter the tunnel, the wine cellar door opens and Austin leads Sarah-hand over her mouth and gun to her back-inside. Austin ties her up and and follows Clint and Roger into the tunnel. Gabrielle paces the hospital waiting room and Michael tries to calm her down. A doctor confirms the first physician’s diagnosis; the best chance is to stay on the current course of antibiotics. He’s hopeful that the meds will work and the hearing loss can be reversed. Gabrielle is impatient and asks if there are any alternative treatments, and the doctor recommends a specialist who might be willing to take the case. Bo returns home expecting to find Sarah but instead seeing Austin’s note. Bo tells the officer outside to call Rafe and get his men to surround the Llanview Grande, then he runs off to rescue Sarah. Bo finds Sarah tied up in the wine cellar and when she tells him where everyone went, Bo climbs into the tunnel. Roger and Clint find Viki and Megan in the penthouse and begin to untie them while Viki warns the men about the gasoline and Austin’s plot. Before the hostages can be freed, however, Austin returns. Max tells Marco Austin has Megan and asks him to think where Megan could have gone looking for Austin. Marco recaps his and Megan’s visit with the real estate agent, including the perfume spill on the carpet. Max recalls Sarah mentioning Megan asking about perfume and finally puts two and two together, running out of the bar with Marco close behind. Back at the penthouse, Austin taunts his four captives and tells them he’s already started the fires downstairs. Then he strikes a match and prepares to light the apartment on fire.
