i wish you guys could've just let him speak in his native language and have it subtitled. I feel that he'd be able to explain it way better expressing and telling about the process in Japanese. Although Taka has really improved in English, I think he still expresses things better in Japanese
A couple people have asked about the chorus. As others have said, it's peer and parental pressure: different people and even the media are always telling you to do different things. Considering the kid in the MV is asian/chinese, yet in a predominately white/american school, he is also fighting against two societies. In asian culture, white skin is considered more beautiful and there are many brightening skin products on the market....yet in american, tan skin is highlighted and many people get tans and wear bronzer/contouring makeup. Asian culture circles around food and plates are regularly refilled (in Cantonese/Mandarin, they would often ask "have you eaten yet?"), yet in american culture, diets and being skinny (think about models which is considered a standard of beauty) are being pushed in the media. The kid stood out naturally because of his parents and their background, but because he didn't fit in in his own school, he started to change cause he either wanted to (to make friends), or felt he had to (to avoid being picked on). Sometimes it feels like there are only two choices...to rebel/stand out or to join everyone/fit in....but in the end, you should do what feels right to you, what you want to do, and be who you really are, whatever side that may lead you on. You won't stand out all the time, but you won't fit in all the time either.

I know English is the global language but it’s not too hard for respect to every languages in this world, it’s not too difficult to read the subtitle for understand what other people say, i know he wants to prove is English but I want to tell them that I love to listen they speak in Japanese and learnt some words with subtitles. I also think he can explain about everything with more comfortable if he use Japanese language. Btw, thank you for the interview and glad to see him on the media😭💙 ps.sorry for my bad English.
Wait.....than does this mean that this song was made from Taka's freestyle and some producer thought: "Hey, this seems interesting. I will edit it and send it back to him and maybe we will make from that a song"
Seems like it...I've seen a lot of their videos since they've been in LA and a lot of times it's just Taka with a bunch of producers, singing and playing acoustic guitar and then coming up with songs. Doesn't seem like anyone else in the band has much input these days and it's mainly Taka's musician friends/producers that are coming up with everything. It's nice that they can come up with these types of songs, but kind of sad that they aren't making their own music and sound like they used to. And it's why their sound is changing so drastically.
@@KuroToshiro the last time other member input was Manhattan Beach in Skyfall exclusive CD (2017), it was Ryota's song. Lets hope for more from the other as well, im sure Toru has alot in his laptop.
Taka's english improved a lot over the years. Standout Fit in is an amazing song, it may not be the style we used to hear from them but the message is enough for me to like it. I hope they get more recognition and success.
Kind of surprise tako didn't meet mv director, because the mv 100% delivered the soul and meaning of the song for my opinion. Great mv and touching song.

The video is really good, it is. It's just Taka has an amazing voice and I wish he could use it more. Instead of American Pop crap. Until then I do have MFS, OCD, MWAM and others. I mean Taka at concerts you hear his amazing voice call out. That voice that is so much like Chester's for example. Simply beautiful. I need that voice.
