I am LOVING your Japan videos!!! The style, the energy, the food, the sights, the activities!!! I'm so happy to see you so happy!!! You're radiating joy and positivity, I'm looking forward to every Sunday to see a new episode!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOUUUUU! I cannot tell you how much this means to me :) This is my first time going overseas and doing all the filming, editing, thumbnail, uploading, optimising all by myself and I was really overwhelmed. But... I didn't need to be. I love making these videos, they're bringing so much joy into my life and knowing that you look forward to seeing them every Sunday just... it makes my day :) Thank you so much. P x
I’ve been telling you… this new chapter in your life WILL BE EPIC!!! You will go through so much growth so quickly, you already are a brand new better version of yourself and it’s been what… a few weeks?!? There’s nothing to fear: YOU GOT THIS and everything you want! I loved your new episode today thank youuuuuu so much!!!😊❤🎉
Such a fun day! Loved the ninja class, and you guys just walking around the city dressed as Ninja!….so funny! The Osaka Team Labs looked so futuristic and beautiful! Glad you are enjoying your time there.❤
hahaha if you knew how long it took me to edit that Ninja bit... haha I could NOT stop laughing at it! The music and the transitions... it all just cracked me up :) So fun! Have a great week love xx
Thank you for coming to Japan. I'm really glad to have the opportunity to have wonderful people like you travel in our country. If I ever get the chance to return to Japan, I would love to try making amazing videos like yours. Japan has different specialties in each region, so please try various things and enjoy!
I didn't think I'd hear back, so I'm even happier now! 😃 Likewise, I'm excited to receive your updates! If you're still in Japan, keep enjoying your time there! If you have any questions or need help with anything, feel free to ask. Mahalo,
I don't really know where to start, my friend. This video is filled with so much happy...so much joy...so much FUN! I'll share my thoughts at the end, but, as you know I love to do, let's do the comments as I watch along: * The "coming soon" shots remain a favorite. Looking forward to finding out what the heck James is doing in the dairy! * I saw that shark in James' short...so glad to see she made her way in to your video. And, I've got to say: you're look of pure silly joy as it eats your arm is fantastic. * Once again, smooth explanations of how anyone can around in Japan on the trains and lets anyone know how to do it by showing how YOU did it. Oh, and for those that want to go, here's the Klook link to make it happen! Perfect. * Ha!! Great shot with the boys on the street...and way to handle his try for a cheek kiss. Made my wife cheer and laugh with ya! * Osaka looks so crowded! Out of curiosity, what day was it? * James, James, James...don't question Phoebe's love of takoyaki! And, way to bravely just attack it without any cold water to save you if it was too hot. Such courage. (I love love love takoyaki) * So hard not to just bounce along with the music. * James has a claw game obsession. Cracks me up that there's claw game where you get...wait for it...claws. Japan...👏 * ROFLMAO...ok...thanks for the head's up on the whisky highball. You did indeed get me as promised. (You're awesome 😁). * And...guess I know you're feelings on a whisky highball! So glad you included that shot. Don't need to say anything more and let yourself tell the story! (I love whisky and bourbon--big fan of Jim Beam--but I don't like whisky highballs either. But I know it's a very popular drink over there, but I likely woulda done what you did--try it--and move on quickly!) * I also understand that, when pouring the drinks for a table, the younger person always pours for the elders first, oldest to youngest. (My slightly older than me wife loves to remind me every time we go out!). * That okonomiyaki looked amazing!! (Thanks for the excellent description for those who don't know. Seafood is the best version, imo). * I expect there are many, many outtakes of your camera stands failing you. But leaving some of them in occasionally really adds a great laugh. (The complete fall in your Aussie Road Trip series comes to mind). * Guessing James REALLY likes spicy food! Did he leave any of the spice powder for anyone else! lol * New scene...new music. * What a GREAT way of securing your iPhone! I'm gonna have to find one of those straps. * The sushi restaurant--Guess it's not "catch and release" at that place! lol * Asahi beer...now we're talking! (well...now we're drinking!) * Seriously? Ninja training? Seriously? OMG...now you're a kickboxing ninja! * No sure laughing is the best technique for a ninja 🤣🤣🤣🤣("The Adventures of the Giggling Ninja" 🤣🤪) * Glad you left in James' commentary to the camera...that was funny. * 80's-like montage music!!! You're speaking to me!! * The shots of you guys in the ninja gear with the color backgrounds...those were fantastic! Worthy of a screencap! * Seriously...well done finding the montage music! I love it! * Well...I asked why...and now I know...sneaking around in Ninja gear in a dairy...Ha! Not something you'd see every day. Except in Japan, I guess...cause it looks like nobody there thought it was odd! * Was looking forward to the explanation of the fun shot of you on the escalator you teased last week. Am not disappointed! (Still a funny image that I really like). * Again...perfect music! You have certainly found your grove, DJ Phoebe! * Great hotel...thanks for the "here's why you'd better stay here" descriptions. We can see why you'd stay there again. * I've noticed that your "B-roll" images are ... more "fun" ... is that the right word? I don't think so. But definitely getting better all the time. And I really like how you integrate the B-roll shots with the narration that you are doing while later shooting the "A-roll" shots. (Assuming I'm using the phrases correctly...please correct me if I'm not). * What a beautiful place to spend the evening. And here's another shot that I hope you keep forever. There's you in the kimono from last week and then this week there's your silhouette against the green/blue with the branch in the foreground. It's an exquisite shot of you and one I think you should keep. * Always heard 7-11's are something else over there. * The rice triangle is called Onigiri. My wife loves them. * Teasing with a whole day at Universal next week! Can't wait to see that (I love the one here in Florida, but we don't yet have Mario World!) Honestly, I didn't think you could top last week. I was wrong. It looks like you are finding your new self in this new phase of your life. And it really shows. Constant joy and almost blinding sparkle. You've been through too much this year (and, if I had to guess, parts of late last year), and, while I suspect there is still much to be conquered, it is delightful to see you succeeding. It looks loke you are maybe the happiest you've been in quite some time. Must be kinda tough in your seat today, as you know what videos are coming for us, and we just have to sit here and wait! And you know we'll be here next week. All 100,000+ of us! (Again...congrats on that epic milestone). Looking forward to next week and for what you've got planned to celebrate 100k. Sending you all the best, as always! Rob & Erin
Rob's Review! Rob's Review! Let's goooooo! Yesss I put that little Whisky Highball tag and the extra food name tags in there with you in mind this week, Rob. hahaha we named that silly toy shark 'Sharkkansen,' after the Shinkansen haha so cute. Sooooo happy you loved that 80's Ninja montage haha the transitions made me laugh so hard! It took me a long time to edit that whole Ninja section cos I just kept laughing :) Ya, I know what you mean about the b-roll shots being more fun. Totally get you! I feel like this whole Japan series has been a testing ground for me. A way to go and shoot and edit a whole overseas series by myself and then come back and edit it all and just develop that trust in myself and my style. Now I'm ready to just kinda jump headfirst into the world, knowing I can do this :) Ahhhh, so exciting to think about! I can't wait for you to see all the travel I've got planned :) Thank you so much to you and Erin for watching and so glad she loves the onigiri too - I've been recreating them at home I'm so obsessed! Hope you both have the BEST week. P x
Because of your video, we’re at a place that serves a good okonomiyaki! Erin suggests pickled plum for the onigiri if you can find it! Super tart, so be warned, but it’s one of her favorites. Also, of course, salmon. The perfect take around snack. Cheers and we’ll see you at Universal next week!
So good to see you happy again another awesome video can't wait for the next one thats one place i really wanna see thinking of taking my kids there :)
Brilliant yet again! Let's face it - everyone dreams about being a ninja at some point! 😂 Japan is just fascinating. I reall want one of those Jim Beams now, but it's 11:45am here so I probably better leave it for a while.
Phoebe , it's nice to see you have fun and get a little silly. To see you reduce your stress level has made it so much easier for you. I only wish we could put in a bottle those moments that are so fun and positive in our lives and take it out when we need it. Osaka Joy. Harriet and I had the same experience🤩🤩 Love you Dear❤❤ One day we shall meet. Sending you Joy from Richmond, Va. Harriet, Jim and Yuki.
That's such a lovely way to think of it and one that hadn't occurred to me, 'reduce your stress levels,' wow! This whole day was just amazing :) I'm learning to let go and be silly and have more fun. It's wonderful. Thanks for the love and support as always - so glad you loved Osaka too! P xx
Really enjoying this series. The two of you look like you are having a blast! James seems to be a cool guy. Even if you are just friends I hope he is kind to you. It's good to see your inner light shine again!
Thank you so much Patricia 🥰 I’m so glad that genuine love of life and happiness is coming through in these videos! My self confidence is growing with each one ♥️♥️♥️
Hiya! You learnt me something new about the cheers with the cup up and down for host vs guest. You made me laugh with the ninja experience 😂. Botanical Gardens are always a nice break, I especially loved the one in Adelaide, but this one in Osaka looks gorgeous too. Thanks for sharing your Osaka experience, one more destination on the bucket list. Have an amazing week ahead 🤙
Oh Felix it took me FOREVER to edit that Ninja bit hahaha I kept laughing and had to stop editing to try and catch my breath haha So glad you loved it :) Have a great week too - P xx
Just LOVE you in Japan and so happy you have some good company(James) 👍 to share 🎉awesome moments. You have a lekker energy and should consider doing MORE videos ❤️. So happy to see you smiling and being happy. ❤❤❤
Your Kyoto and Osaka videos showcased some very fun and interesting places to visit/food to try etc... very helpful ideas for us ! Love your recommendation for the The Lively Osaka Honmachi - will def look into that hotel to stay at!
That makes me so happy to hear :) I loved staying at The Lively in Osaka, it has such a great vibe in the lobby in the evenings! Have a wonderful time exploring Japan x
I am an Australian Victorian Melbourne 2007 to 2019 here.. Student to citizen here... Following you in Instagram and youtube... Cheers from Coimbatore- Manchester of South India
I am loving them too! A few observations: 1) I remember a video awhile back after your divorce (or during) when you said you were afraid to have to edit the videos yourself now. LOL! They are SO MUCH better now that you are doing it! It's almost like from 2-dimensional to 3-dimensional. 2) I know you two are just friends, but such natural ease and chemistry you two have. Plus, you guys make A VERY attractive couple! 3) That is all, just thank you for another magical video! :)
Oh my gosh I was completely overwhelmed! This whole Japan trip has been a testing ground or training run for me 😄 my first time travelling overseas and doing all the filming, editing, optimising, uploading, thumbnail work etc all by myself and I AGREE with you! The videos are… deeper? Warmer? Richer? The word escapes me but I love your 3D reference. So true!! So glad you love seeing James in the videos 😄 it’s always great to have people in your life you get along so well with! 🙏🏼 I’m sure we’ll get the chance to travel together again this year and I’m hoping to have lots of other creators in the videos throughout my travels too 🥰🥰🥰
Places to visit on your trip to Japan~ Where Japanese people want to go once in a lifetime. There are the Imperial Palace during cherry blossom season (Chidorigafuchi Park), Ise Jingu, Izumo Taisha, Nikko Toshogu, and the summit of Mt. Fuji. And Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoto
@@travelforphoebe Thanks for that. It is to do with travel cards. I have a Qantas and Wise card. Which one if none of those have you had the best experience with? Cheers K 😘
@@travelforphoebe Thanks Phoebe. Really appreciate you coming back to me. Given I will need Euros, British Pounds and Sing $ for the big trip it will probably best to try one of them. Lol ❤️
I've tried writing this reply a few times and I'm finding it difficult to cover everything so I'll just do the best I can :) I'm not sure if you've been to Japan or not but, if not, it's important to know that there are multiple train systems and each one is owned by a different group which means you have to buy a ticket for each group/system. So a JR pass won't work on a subway line or metro line, it'll only work on a JR line. So, for us, for this specific day in Osaka, we only caught trains that were on one system/owned by one group. The day pass was perfect for that. BUT the next day we went out to Universal Studios and had to buy a different ticket for each system we used to get there, so it wouldn't have made sense to buy the day pass for that. Such a complicated thing to answer haha it should be so simple! But... there may be times you can use the JR Pass if you're catching JR lines to certain places. If not, you gotta look at which lines you're going to use and decide if the day pass is going to cover all/most of them or if it's just better to buy each ticket needed as you go.
Phoebe, I LOVE seeing you back, anew and absolutely genuinely loving your life! You give me inspiration and hope beyond MEASURE! Your guy is cute with you, what a match! You appear free-er than ever
I'm Japanese, but I think Japan is the country with the most delicious food in the world. I would like you to try foods that are not well known to foreigners. Eat lots of delicious food and have fun😊👍
@@travelforphoebe There are plenty of foods and ingredients that have been eaten in the region for a long time, so please try various things. There are a great number of preserved foods and fermented foods, so please try them.
Hello from Melbourne! I am inspired to travel Japan for the first time so Thank you. All of your suggestions will be planned into my trip and are very much appreciated. I have to say: your videos are absolutely top notch! You definitely have a natural talent with the whole execution of putting them together and I can see this taking you very far into your successful future. Good Luck!
We had JR Rail Passes so didn't buy an individual ticket :) There's a link in the video description to check out the different prices of JR Rail Passes
The restaurant stops were organised by the food tour guide and didn’t have English names outside or on the menus so I’ve included shots of them for you so you can find them! 🙏🏼 they were on Dotonbori
Do you think Japan would be an okay solo travel place or best to do with someone else? I’ve done heaps of solo travel but it’s striking me as a place that would be better shared
Yeah, I hear you! I do a lot of solo travel but sharing Japan with a friend was epic. I think if you did go by yourself you'd have a great time but, as you can see, the two of us were like a couple of big kids! So if you want that kinda experience, as opposed to a more quiet, peaceful one, sharing it a great idea :)
All the food in Osaka looks very delicious, I could tell that the two of you really enjoyed the ninja experience. I have subscribed to your channel, please enjoy Japan to the fullest in the future (^▽^)/
