Nicola Hughes to be fair Lucas was as dishonest to Lindsey hooking rip with his ex and then proposing with her in a way to hurt her and just as Lindsey was willing to give Lucas another chance he leaves her hanging
I love Lucas and Peyton and I'm thrilled that they ended up together but why is everyone so hateful of Lindsey in this scene? Yes, she saw all the signs that Lucas was still in love with someone else but she ignored them because she loved him and because he did everything to convince her he loved her too. Knowing that something is inevitable doesn't make it hurt any less when it actually happens. She had every right to feel hurt in that moment. That doesn't make her a horrible person or a threat to Leyton. It just makes her relatable. Lucas knew that it was going to hurt her which is why he stalled on it so long. He never meant to hurt Lindsey. He probably really thought he could go through with it and that what they had would be enough but even if she hadn't called off that wedding he still would have kept comparing the two and Lindsey would forever lose simply because she wasn't the girl he was in love with.
I totally agree... don't get me wrong I am a Payton fan, but Lindsey had every right to feel hurt because after knowing that he is still in love with Payton and always will be she still love him.. kinda stupid and desperate but the heart wants what it wants....... and its my personal opinion that what hurt Lindsey the most is that he had always been denying is feelings for Payton and now to hear that they are engaged that must really hurt .... but love this show and I miss it

Paulina Lopez They were both hurting throughout their entire relationship in season five and past the breakup. Lindsey did the right thing by walking away from Lucas. She knew he was in love with someone else and when she realized Peyton was the comet she knew no matter how much he lied to himself and to her, Peyton would always be it for him. She wasn’t trying to hurt Lucas when she lied about dating. She just didn’t want to look pathetic and she didn’t trust herself not to get sucked back into a relationship and knew was doomed to fail. Yes, she hurt Lucas by not allowing him to hide with her but she also did him a huge favor at the same time. She gave him the push he needed to confront his true feelings and the freedom to pursue it. And Lucas hurt her just as much, if not more. And unlike Lucas, she was genuinely in love with him and 100% invested in that engagement.
Not antagonizing Lindsay but for a girl to have already seen the signs that the boy you like is in love with someone else, why still go for it. You have to learn to step back a little and don't involve yourself with that kind of complication.
Lucas and Peyton have been through everything together. If her best friend Brooke can't come between them or their love then no one can. Brooke said it best to Peyton "It has always been Lucas and Peyton, Lindsey doesn't stand a chance." He wrote 2 books about how much he loves her. I misses them when they left. The show wasn't the same.

Why the hell did Lindsey look so shocked and hurt? She left him at the alter, because she knew he was in love with Peyton, she basically convinced Lucas to tell Peyton how he felt, to finally accept the fact that he loved Peyton, and she was shocked. She knew it was going to happen sooner or later, I didn't feel bad at all, I am a huge Leyton shipper so I am completely okay with how everything turned out, but if she didn't want Lucas to be with Peyton why the hell would she say no to him at the alter, she could have pushed aside the fact that she knew he was in love with Peyton and married him (though it would have been a very stupid decision) or instead of having her heart "broken" she could have said no to his proposal knowing he proposed to push aside his feelings for Peyton and left before things got more serious. People say Peyton is the one that waits to say how she feels, they obviously did not pay attention to Lindsey.
He convinced her he loved her, hence her voicemail message the day he chose Peyton. And even knowing he dumped her, she didn't know he'd get married to Peyton do soon after their split. Besides, didn't you hear her say at the end " I was right all along about you and Peyton"? So, no, she wasn't acting shocked that they're together.

Being a Leyton fan I was never a Lindsey fan.... I mean she is the one who called off their wedding, who rejected him, who told him he basically belonged to and with Peyton. Peyton even tried to convince her at one point, despite her feelings for him. I know it's all just the writing of course but it still irks me how shes gonna act so surprised and hurt about it when she pushed them being together, ultimately. lol
Well, even if Lucas ended up marrying Lindsey it still wouldn't have lasted long. Like Brooke told Peyton, nobody can keep them apart! Leyton was always endgame.

I really liked Peyton with Jake. I could see how in love they are. Lucas would have done great with either Brooke or Lindsey. But at the same time him and Peyton both loved each other from day one. So it worked out either way.
Lucas loved Peyton since 8th grade. He wrote "Mr. Lucas Sawyer" on his notebook (thanks Haley for spilling that tea in 4x15). They were soulmates, they were drawn to each other. That's why Jake, Julian, Brooke, and Lindsey all ended up getting hurt. Brooke had a gut feeling that Lucas and Peyton were soulmates and that brought out her insecurities, but she finally accepted it in season 4. Lindsey realized it when she found out The Comet was about Peyton. Jake realized it when Peyton said "I love you, Lucas" in her sleep. Julian realized it when Peyton would carry Luke's book around everywhere and would buy copies every time she saw it. All these relationships were simply Lucas and Peyton denying their feelings for each other, hoping they could love someone else, but they couldn't. Lucas and Peyton were only capable of loving each other.

Lucas and Peyton were always soulmates. The creators said that's the way it's always been since episode 1. Lindsey was created to dramatize how much Peyton loves Lucas. They only decided to have Brooke and Lucas together temporarily because they were together in real life.

Amélie Bzh lucas and Peyton where always end game. The only reason Brooke and Lucas lasted so long was because the two were dating. They were always going to break up. It was heavily hinted that Lucas and Peyton still had feelings for each other every time broke and Lucas were together.
Peyton was never selfish she was young.Who would think about getting married at 19??She had dreams and goals even though she loved lucas.The only thing that might been selfish was leaving him for 4 years and not coming back after her summer vacation.4 Years is a long time to wait on someone but it was just not the right time to think about marriage at that point.Everybody was pretty much busy with careers and in different states.True love never dies when it’s meant to be things will fall into place.
I am a huge Leyton fan but I didn't hate Lindsey..I was more angry with Lucas for using her as a rebound...it's just what he did to Brooke It just wasn't fair to Lindsey and I can't see how you can blame Lindsey for something which was totally out of her hands.

@Emchi89 The reason why Brooke and Lucas broke up the second time had nothing to do with Peyton. She broke up with him because she didn't miss him anymore. Lucas didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't because he was in love with Peyton that they broke up. It was because her heart was no longer in the relationship. As for Lindsay...she told him to follow his heart and he did. So no Lucas wassn't being a jerk just honest.

@Emchi89 True. I think she might have done it to protect herself but I think it was mostly had to do with the fact she didn't want to be in a one sided relationship. Lucas never let Brooke in after the shooting becasue she wasn't there when it happened meaning she wasn't in the school with him. And when Peyton kissed him it was because she was dying of a bullet wound so I don't think that really counts. She kissed him not out of lust but as a way to say goodbye if she died. It wasn't romantic.

@Blauwpauwtje I agree with you on that Brucas ending had nothing to to with Chad and Sophia's divorce. They are professionals, and they acted in love and together for basically whole season 3, and Sophia had left Chad before that even started. So we know that Brucas could have happend IF that is what Mark wanted, but it obviously wasnt.

@TalorMadison90 I think that Peyton did have a big thing to do with it, not saying it was her fault, Lucas is the jerk (imo). He and Peyton kissed, and didn't tell her. He hung out with her all the time and then Peyton confessed her feelings for Lucas. So i think she protected her self in breaking up with Lucas before he could leave her for Peyton. But that's just ofc what I think...He then broke Peytons heart by choosing Lindsey, and then broke Lindsays heart by still loving Peyton..
It's crazy to me that they wouldn't check with the author before releasing the dates! It's his book and should be his schedule. Luke has no obligation to tell Lindsay about his personal life. They are exes and he doesn't owe her anything

I like Linsey I did but I knew she was just a distraction for Lucas and Peyton another obstacle they had to overcome and honestly it irritated me that they use Brooke and Linsey even jake as the people that Lucas and Payton couldn’t love I would have preferred that they had just been together the hole time like Hayley and nathen and had other challenges then people.
