Watched it Dan after your comment to me, I didn't realise that you sold it! I can see why you got emotional she is a stunning 996 Aero and that interior, gorgeous! Yes I get very attached to my cars always hate the time it comes to sell! My current vehicle I have owned for 8 years!

Yes it was a tough decision but it's not like I don't have more of them lol...but as you know each car feels different and has individual quirks that make them unique and that car just drives so bloody well ...🫶

Yeah was just an eBay 6k kit £39.99 and I use 8k led bulbs for the highbeem which were £12.99

Love the terracotta interior on DTC (and it's backstory too). With you on your thoughts on the spats on silver. I'd love one of these aero cars in about 18mths time. Have joined your facebook group to hopefully find one when the time comes as a reward for achieving something else I am currently working on in my life. It will sit alongside my Corrado VR6, I sold my mk2 but seeing your BBM one in another video made me regret a little however 996 aero is the next aim, mk2 can come back later. Followed D7WXX, looks to be in great hands and yes I sold a white Corrado VR6 (on youtube, Classix) and that was a difficult decision, missed it, bought another. I enjoy the journey "doing them up" too.

I actually feel a little bit emotional watching that. Cars, if you're into them, they really get round your heart in a way you don't think possible. I've got a little GR Yaris that I've bonded to, I took her out to Japfest the weekend gone, on the drive up there she just drove so nicely and precisely. She's a keeper, completely original OE. Other then PPF'd and ceramic coated, with loads of Bilt Hamber Dynax wax under seal underneath to keep the rust worm out. She comes out for dry days and coffee meets and shows etc.....although I really do like these 996.1 Aeros. It's an itch that's going to be scratched at some point. Thanks for the insight into your amazing collection 👍

Hi Dan. I was thinking of using m030 springs with standard shocks for a while and I was really pleased to hear you had success with this. Can you remember where you got your M030 springs from?

Yeah they really work you get the ride height almost perfect and a semi comfortable sporty feel ...I ordered new springs from Porsche...rears arrived fronts never did ...I got second hand fronts from another car I put coil overs on 👍🏻

Hi Dan, is that Terracotta interior the same as Boxster Red? Looks the same as my Turbo which is Boxster Red. I get your theory about the 100k mile thing. Doesn't matter what the miles are after that really it's all about condition.

Yes terracotta was renamed boxster rouge IE boxster red for the launch of the boxster ...then now has become even more orange and boxster red became more red on the 987/997 era ... But it's identical as old terracotta and a terracotta dish if you put one in it ...your will be the same if 996 🫶❤️

I have a boxster red interior in mine, looks terracotta to me but the original bill of sale has it down as optioned as boxster red.

Good video Dan please make more content some of us dont use Instagram Think the dan's owning that car is a great story. Boxster dont quite fit in the stable as you are dan the aero 996 man but still a great car as well and if its what i think it is would be a good upgrade from my current 987

@@danstimelessclassics5899 yes defo would love to buy it but the only way would be a good px for mine bit older but less miles as if i am right its a pdk with nearly 160k on it? Mine is a 2.7 manual but some nice xtra's fron factory and sitting at 122k

What is the bypass delete?

Bypass delete is resonator delete on the air intake pipe on top of the air box .. it upgrades the flexible old rubber pipe with a silicone one and by passes the smaller resonator section that reduces engine intake noise ... You then cap that part off and can even remove from inside the box and add a performance filer inside like K&N or pipercross. This then increases a bit of throttle response and sounds fantastic especially at 5-7k rpm fantastic cheap modification without any negatives and looks very OEM especially if you use a black kit ... My recommendation is the Spyder Performance kit costs less than £70 delivered cap and pipe ... Air filter wise you can use a standard cheaper original but it's worth doing an upgrade performance one at the same time but they are £100-130+ but you keep them for life just wash instead of replace so pay for themselves after 3-4 services ...

I didn't fit them in the end ... Spats are very rare and very much torn 50/50 in the aero community of weather they like them or not I actually have grown to love them when I hated them a few years ago ...but I do believe there colour subjective and ride height too ...for example how much better they look on forensic John red car slammed at the rear vrs a silver car with a higher ride height... Very subjective on a particular car and or colour everything has to work together or they don't work if you know what I mean .. I'm on the fence on silver cars but big yes on black , red , blue and grey too I think 🤔 😂
