I have seen some tech reviewers doing reviews on these smart watches for a long time now... they all talk but no stuff... but I must say you are doing a wonderful job of walk the talk... Easy to understand all the technical jargon... I am happy with your content.. You got a new subscriber.. Ya pls bring the xiaomi watch review and pls do let us know which is the better choice among 3 tic pro5, Xiaomi or 1+2... cheers mate
Anyone planning on buying needs to know that oneplus watch doesn't like other watch faces they work with the watches but usually give you warning that power save won't support any watch faces you download from Google just a fair warning not to panic it will still be supported just not in power saving mode
I'm also interested in the vibration strength. Other reviews on Reddit said it was similar to the Galaxy watches. Which is good. Very few reviews mention the vibration strength which is frustrating to me since I need a strong vibration to wake me and give me daily notifications without sound.
Great review as always, and I completely agree with the frustrations of some of the Samsung frustrations you mention. However, that battery life is exactly the same as my classic 6 on smart mode and given the bigger screen and rotating bezel and most importantly wireless charging, the GW6 is far superior. We've had this discussion before, but just knowing I can use my phone to reverse wireless charge my watch offsets any loss in battery life (compared to the unreliable ticwatch) Where I agree is Samsung failing to provide a better Battery Saver mode. It cannot be beyond the watches capability to provide a user defined set of saver modes whereby one can select what features you disable completely. I read that google has now added the facility to allow different facilities to be run by different chips so perhaps it will happen next generation. In the meantime, Samsung will give users features like reviewing Health tracking on TV.. that is so useful, can't wait to try it out.😂
Thank you for providing the most comprehensive review yet! 🎉 Just to clarify, the watch is equipped with the W5 processor, not the W5+. Please let me know if I'm mistaken.
Which UK and US banks for tap to pay? Had a huawei gt 5, nice look but doesn't support tap to pay in Europe or the USA (works in Russia and China banks).
excellent review, but I would mention one big CON to this watch that holds me back from buying it and that would be only 2 years of wearOS updates + 1 year extra of security updates. I don't want my watch to be outdated after two years, compare this update cycle to the galaxy watch....
Got mine yesterday, LOVE it. Having a Pixel Watch 2, the size is excellent. The biggest plus is the sapphire crystal glass and advertised battery life, and that it has the weight and feel of my analog watches. My Pixel Watch 2 already has glass damage which really sucks and I have to charge it every day. My only gripe so far is all my fitness tracking is in Fitbit and at least for now, can't be moved over or integrated (yet?).
Love your reviews mate....cheers! Could be so kind to recommend a fitness ring or band (NOT WATCH, don't want it for time) that can measure Blood Pressure accurately enough???
Samsung and Honor are launching their Health Fitness Rings soon. Apple is rumoured to do the same. So stay tuned. I don't think blood pressure will be possible. We will have to wait and see.
Why that crown should do anything. It has a touch screen. And what comes to wireless charging; no need for that. 0% to 100% in an hour. 10min for a full day use. People are complaining for nothing.
Very great review as usual, thank you a billion! We have finally a new champion waiting for head to head comparison. Not very surprised with this great watch and i see the fingerprint of Oppo very clear here. Two processors, i think we had before in Oppo watch 4 pro, not sure about the battery modes but i feel that oppo watch X is the twin of oneplus 2. Great job and great review. Thank you a lot. Two last points. The first is about the head to head comparison between Mi band 8 pro and Samsung fit3, where i feel that samsung will fall again. The second point is my message for samsung to think better for future especially for battery and stop rotating good features between watches, this is the result of making watch 6 classic weakin battery to support purchases of watch 5 pro. Sorry Samsung but you are not the only option in the world of smart watches anymore.
Excellent review, thank you! I notice that it DOES have a couple of dials at least (green and blue) with traditional CALENDAR readouts. In an ideal world, I'd like a developer to come up with a lighter blue background dial, with full calendar read-out, including Moon phase and even, for us 'clockies', an Equation of Time dial.
Funny thing is, like you, I am still waiting for the perfect smartwatch and then last night clearing out my google stuff, I came across 3 photos of previous smartwatches. Sony (square jobby) with the fabulous screen that was ledgible in daylight! Moto360 with the flat tyre that I honestly never minded because it's bezels were so thin. Huwawei, an early model with sapphire glass, beautiful stainless body and the smallest bezels ever. I still think this is the best form yet and watches went seriously backwards from this point.
I have been waiting for this review. But can you explain why a watch needs to play music, YT or any animation? I use my phone for that because the speakers are great. Thank you for reviewing this watch.
The only two problems I can find with it is it's not wireless charging and the bezel on the watch is too big other than that this is a really nice smartwatch
My 2 biggest concerns - can i pay with it without my phone being connected? Secondly, do you think the scrolling crown which dies nothing can be fixed by an upgrade or will be always just fake scroll on this one?
I just got mine as a gift but I'm having problems with SMS text messages. Calls come through. WhatsApp notifications come through. Even my doorbell notifications come through but SMS text messages .... nothing! What am I missing?
6:15 paused there and THAT IS HOW a watch is supposed to be, curved, curved enough to wrap around your wrist, so many watches are made but the band and where the band connects to are not curved enough and so far, this OnePlus watch it fits perfectly, and for safe measure, I will be selling my Classic 6 and buy a 2nd OnePlus so that I can use at work and if it scratch it I won't care, I'll have a 2nd one for the weekends.
Good review. Very informative. This watch is hands down better than the ticwatch pro 5. It's smoother and quicker. The screen looks better. Google wallet actually works on this watch. The only reason I'll upgrade this watch eventually is that it has too much bezel and the motor for vibration could be stronger (plus should have the option to customize the strength of vibration like their OnePlus 12 phone can). Also, they need to bring the water touch algorithm to the watch as well. So you can use in the rain or shower without phantom touches. Plus OnePlus or Android needs to allow customized ringtones and messages alerts. Can't believe that's not a thing already.
Seriously, when I saw the rave headlines of all videos regarding the battery 🔋 life of this smartwatch I was expecting 4-5 days in full smart mode with AOD, but no, it's no better than a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro or TicWatch Pro 5 and even the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic 47mm, no rotating bezel (and yet, there is no lack of borders on this OnePlus Watch 2, they are more than abundant 🤧) or crown, no fall detection, no ECG... In fact, it's the testers/youtubers (in reality, they're more salespeople than anything else) who make brands today allow themselves to release such mediocre products at such high prices, pfff 🤦🏽♂️
How is it when using Google maps? Will it speak directions like a phone? It's the reason I'm wanting a smart watch. Too many stories of phone snatching. I've been happy with just a Polar M400 for years to tell the time & measure my daily walking.
I've got the Galaxy watch 6 series, the Xiaomi Watch S2 and the Amazfit Balance, and the Balance instantly became the "daily driver" as it does all needed, it's very customisable with the buttons, and even with the latest OS update where it is now possible to control all by voice commands/AI and not to forget, the battery lasts for days compared to the other watches that only get a couple of days the most.
@@farleyfaria it's a great watch, and power lasts for more than a week... Just remember to buy/add a protective cover for the watch' glass/display, as it scratches extremely easily.
just got my watch today i have the oneplus 12 im debating if i should wait to get screen protector before using it...i have the pixel with lte but wanted something bigger lol
Are the complications on most of the default apps editable? I found with Ticwatch they are either not editable or you can only select from a really small number of the Ticwatch compllications
for me running whit music is important, if you have spotify premium and you download your running playlist or podcast can you go battery save mode and aces the music ? or only full wear os mode?
This is a really well done review. They make a 43-44 mm version & I'm in. Those of us with smaller wrists can't wear this giant. This watch seems to hit a sweet spot between the best of Wear OS & a Garmin watch.
Have you tried to answer calls on phone when you have a bluetooth device connected to the phone itself rather than the watch ? I cant get that to work, it disconnects any bluetooth device and directs the call to the phone itself.. that means that I cant use my regular bluetooth devices that are far better than the buds, or use the Google AAOS handsfree in the car.
No ecg, no arrhythmia detection, no fall detection... Sorry there are cheeooer ones if you need vo2 and stepmeter

Type one diabetic here.. can you test to see if the watch can download "gwatch wear" and "wearable widgets" as this watch might be a game changer for diabetics..
A few months later I'm asking how the earbuds are doing. I had some issues with the earbuds 2 models from a fast battery drainrate. Do the 3 models have it to? If not Imma buy them.
hi, i am a long time follower of your channel. have you considered doing some level of screening on the controversial or conflicting things in your review when compared to other popular review channels like dc rainmaker, desfit and quantified scientist? i feel that would create some level of confusion among smart watch enthusiasts such as yourself who are also following other channels. thanks for doing this, btw :)
Whilst I mostly love this watch, the biggest problem I’ve encountered is the ‘Sleep’ mode (ie turns off raise to wake, notifications & calls) and the DND are both manually activated. There’s no schedule option so you can automate the on and off times. Inevitably I’m going to forget to manually turn them on or off and it will have consequences.
Hoping for oneplus watch 3 will be slightly thinner, around 50-60g weight and with functional rotating crown...also, hoping the update for watch 2 will improve the waiting time to view message from notification..
I know they may need to shave a bit of battery but I'd like it to go to a 44mm casing and a couple mm thinner. I have this watch and it's nice but it needs some updates.
Very good and detailed review. I would really like to know if you decides to use this dayly instead of your watch 6. Im trying to decide which of them to get. I really like the design of theese 2 more than the watch 6 classic
