Here in Finland tarp shelter isn't the best shelter in summer and autumn because of the bugs such as deer keds, mosquitos and forest ticks. Since I hate camping in tents I actually bought a hammock with mosquito net and a tarp. Can't wait to try it.

Luckily here the bugs are not too bad at all, especially with a good smoky fire. But ye I get your point, this shelter definitely won't suit places with a lot of bugs. I'm very curious about trying a hammock, never slept in one yet, not sure if I would sleep well in it. Only one way to find out I guess. Good luck with yours anyway. Thanks for the review! I would use this half shelter as an emergency backup that could be carried in a cargo pocket. On another note, magnets are simple and cheap devices, and come in a variety of strengths and sizes, possibly being used in other camp applications. Something to consider.

I really like a few things about that shelter and its components, @onewind have nailed this one. the pegs make sense being that shape. the magnetic pull out point is a genius, i really really like this. great review man, I hope your well.
