What can you conclude when your diagnostic test reproduces the pain for which your patients consult you? It depends. How sensitive and specific is the test in question?
For some tests, a positive result is not of much use to include a diagnostic hypothesis. For others, it only takes a negative result to exclude such a hypothesis.
