These guys crush so many rare cars. I’ve been trying to find several parts for a 1988 Accord LX which are just nonexistent now. These guys had one come in, even said they would be open to selling parts, and it was already crushed within 24 hours. I would have purchased the radio, power antenna, carburetor, tie rods, and maybe the steering rack.
How about having someone there contacting owners clubs and such places and putting ads out in the right places? Not just craigslist. And perhaps keeping the really rare ones such as this for a minimum 1 month? I know capitalism its a business money money blah blah but surely owners clubs and rare cars are worth more than their scrap value?! Sidebar, not sure where this t came from but i cant seem to delete it!!! 😂>t@@autopartscity-Illinois
@@autopartscity-Illinoisif yall get an 98 jeeps grand cherokees dakotas or durangos with 5.9s hemis in them post them ill be east bound and down for ALL of them
Those body panels and such are super valuable. Same with the trans and such. It’s a lot of one off parts only for the SVT focus and I’d definitely part it out and sell them online. Look up svt focus transmission for reference
@@awj918 it's "value" is what any person puts to it. As with anything. One man can see junk where another sees treasure. There could be someone out there especially in the owners clubs and community who has a special attachment to that car. Again as with anything. Too many people are too quick to dismiss things these days. The throwaway culture is disgusting in some people. And half the reason we, as a specie on this planet, are facing the issues we are facing. Misplaced value and misplaced ideals.
He probably already crushed it. These dudes are always crushing rare cars, so infuriating sometimes. Watched them crush a perfectly salvageable 57 chevy. So many rare Parts they could have saved to help get others on the road.
Bruh u rly are taking too much enjoyment out of a terrible and sad situation from top to bottom.... like multiple different levels of just heart ache and genuine sadness can be the take away from looking at this...... but ur just like "Welp, not much is known about this former project car, but i do know one thing, gonna b crushed.😊 its good to have some level of certainty❤😊have a blessed day"
I look at these videos and realize that we had so.much variety in cars back in the day with a lot of fun and interesting vehicles. The auto market in terms of variety is pretty much non existent nowadays
You can blame the EPA for that. The push for smaller cars being unreasonably fuel efficient encouraged making large gas guzzlers, and with less choices, the prices of cars shot up.
@@LuwiigiMaster but the only thing is the exact opposite happened vehicles have become bigger. All vehicles are 25 to 50 % larger than even a decade ago. However the EPA standards have pushed auto makers into make vehicles with cheap 4 cylinder engines with turbos for better fuel economy and then the hybrids. V6 and V8 engines are dying because of the EPA.
@@bh2155 they still make v6s and v8s, they're often tacked onto expensive vehicles where the guzzler tax is just a drop in the bucket. Gasoline cars have died, they're going electric, the only gasoline vehicles will be trucks and suvs.
Do not crush that car, it’s a EAP as well. So many rare parts on that. The headlights, steering wheel, bumpers, side skirts, mirrors, etc.. please don’t crush it!
@@AlKaseltzer87 The only thing people want is the shell. That’s the rare part. People often don’t know what they have when they scrap it. Someone dumped a split window Corvette at my local junkyard a few years back. It was just the shell, but the junkyard set it aside and sold it for $14,000. It sat for a year in their classics section where they put all the weird and old cars, as while they run a scrapyard, they also know what to hold onto. They regularly sell the weird and rare stuff for a mint, to the point that they’re turning a section of field they bought into a used car lot. I’m looking at a ‘67 Thunderbird that came in 100% complete that turns over. No rust and the interior isn’t terrible. If it doesn’t sell, the owner has plans for it. He already took home a Triumph and a Fiat that came in. This guy should have held onto this car. It would have been gone quick.
I had the same car when I was 17. Fully built when I bought it and I loved it, sadly a very large puddle blew the head gasket and I had to get rid of it at the time.
I think that transmission should get pulled. Those of us that road race cars like this are having a hard time finding manual transmissions. It’s not like we can replace our cars with newer models since most are auto only. I run Neons but I know of at least one group of guys that run Focuses in the Chicago area. Sadly, I don’t have their contact info.
My next door neighbor needs a windshield for her Focus wagon. It is the same body style, but a four-door wagon.. She is a working so hard but really struggling. I've been helping her out with the odd thing, but I guess shipping would be a killer from outside Chicago to Niagara Falls New York even if the window was a good fair price. Guess I should call the shop.
Looks like someone was trying to race car it or rally car it. Based off the suspension height I'm leaning more towards race car. And I'm guessing it by the way the transmission area inside the car.
