Just tried the ribeye recipe. 1:45 seconds per side starting with a 630F cast iron pan. Success! I watched the flames on top of the steaks, and thought I might be in trouble. The family says they were perfect! Thanks for the help!
Thank you for this. I just did my first steak on my Ooni Koda 16, following your instructions. It turned out great! I really love the Ooni, such a great way to cook whilst socialising.
Mr DELORME I ordered from hartsofstur.com. They notified me when they had stock. It must have been destiny as I couldn’t sleep and checked my phone at 4am. I checked the site at 9am and they had all gone.
Hi nice looking steak. Can't work out why ooni recipe says to preheat pan for 10 mins in a 500 degree oven wouldn't that strip the seasoning from the pan? I agree with your method of cooking a steak
Hey! I got a joiner to knock it up for me, I showed him some images of things I liked and left him to it. It came in cheaper than the kits I seen before and was to my specification, win win!
Hey Denis, I picked this up on eBay, it’s 4ft x 2ft, with a small lip at the back (although can get it flush too) for about £80. Really happy with it! :)
Great video! Cooked my steak to perfection with your instructions. I noticed after, there was some burnt seasoning stuck on my cast-iron plate. How should I go about removing that? Or should I just let it be after trying to scrub it off?
I found the best trick recently. If you allow the pan to cook first, then at a later time, take a salt grinder - grind a heavy, evenly distributed coating of salt along the pan… then heat it up real hot on the stovetop. Take it off heat once wicked hot, to a safe place (I take it outside), and scrub with a wire brush. The salt acts like sandpaper, and everything just comes right off! ;)
If you were making some sort of healthy chips that'll explain the time but since your frying them you may aswell just buy frozen chips and fry them, save so much time. There's to many steps and takes so long just to achieve some crispy chips that you can buy frozen and fry once.
Are you cooking inside of a prison ? Brick walls or brick walls it looks like as inviting as as a car park in the winter ! I’d suggest you check out James Martins out door kitchen! Ponies ambassador from him prison Scotland
I 've been using my Koda 16 only for pizzas so far and want to try this but I am afraid the oven dome could get messed up with steak smoke and my pizzas will smell like beef dripping after that. Did you have to go through a deep clean before cooking pizza again after this or it was fine and clean?
