This is a complete disassembly of a Dyson V11. This video is extremely long and you will need to watch the other 2 videos on my channel to help you understand how to remove the connector
excellent - this showed me how to install my new motor ordered off aliexpress. The white motor top being stuck on was the first point that helped me - imade me realize i needed a bit more force to lever it off. second useful point was bending back the two power leads so the old motor dropped out. I also had a tiny white clip on connector - i think this might have been what you called the trigger switch. I didn't need to disassemble the handle - I just took out the engine - and put the new one in. THANKS SO MUCH - there are several videos out there that claim to show 'complete' disassembly but do not take out the motor. there is even one that claims to take out the motor but actually just replaces a motor and handle assembly. Your 🤩GREAT video is the only one i find that actually shows how to change the motor with its head assembly, thank you thank you.
Thank you very much. The red power knob broke on our V10 and the video really helped me repairing that (ok, glue ist still drying and we'll see how long it works afterwards).
Thank you so much for making this video. The red ring on mine had spontaneously detached itself for no apparent reason. I called Dyson and they had me doing a video to them whilst I talked which I thought was good support. They said I needed a complete new bin assemby which I ordered. I thought I'd take a look at my faulty bin and found your video so I could see how the red ring could be put back in place. I would never have been able to work it out by myself. So, I have a spare bin now. If it happens again, maybe I'll apply some superglue! Thanks once again.
Thank you for the tutorial, super detailed and super complete. It really helped me fix my Dyson V11. For me it was indeedb the Trigger that was breaking. A big crack over almost the entire width meant that it wouldn't start all the time (because the trigger was bending and not pressing the switch). I glued the trigger and reinforced it with a nail dipped in glue. My Dyson V11 should work for a few more years :) Two small comments to improve. To remove the trigger support, a Torx T8 screwdriver is not essential. It's actually better, but if, like me, you work a lot with a bit holder and bits, it doesn't fit as you very well indicated in the video (too large) Then, a small flat screwdriver will do just fine. It's a small Torx screw, not very tight. Just check the size of the screwdriver on one of the Torx screws previously removed. Second comment: do not hesitate to press very hard on the trigger support to get it out. It is very well attached :) Thanks again.
Hey, I completed the trigger replacement. Thank you for the help. For some unknown reason, the vacuum is now not powering the brush bar. Anything I could have missed??
So 17:38 So instead of a plier. Why don't you place a small block of wood slightly smaller than the connector as a shim and use the wand of the vacuum on and allow the shimmed wand connector to push the connector out while holding the bottom. Tapping it with a plier will mar the connector surface. I used the wand. 5 seconds and the connector was out while supporting the canister from falling at the bottom
Ordered a refurbished v11 from dyson. Will not turn on, no lights, won't charge, tried holding trigger down. Nothing. Contacted dyson, they sent a new battery. Still nothing. Dead. Battery voltage reads 22v. Contacted dyson again, they sent a new vacuum. AND IT DOESNT WORK. Nothing, no lights, does not charge. Tried everything. What am I doing wrong? Charger works on my old v10. Two dead vacuums?? Can't be. Any suggestions please!
the battery can be tested by itself by press the black button on it and it will light up blue showing you that it works. it can be the motor is dead 2 times in a row.
Hi, I have a T8 screwdriver but it doesn't seem to fit. I'm trying to loosen the screw at 0:50 can you tell me which Torx you need for that? I have seen throughout the video you mention when you're using a T8, but in that case you didn't at 0:50. I wonder which Torx number a philips screwhead is. Can you explain that? Thanks!
@@OpenMeUpTec Ah okay thanks. Do you what type of philips screwdriver I need? As far I know is that a philips screwdriver has like a cross. All of the screws with that cross did not fit. Do you have like a screwdriver size to be able to open it? Like which exact screwdriver sizes do you use for the whole assembly?
@@siyosinjashd8362 if you want to work on this you need to get a screw driver set so you have everything. if you are just looking for the one screw driver then i dont recommend you to disassemble it
I have this problem, I can remove all screws except those damned 2 in the battery. I have bought 2 screwdrivers sets, still can't get them in ..... looks so easy on the video. They may be slightly stripped now, but nothing seems to fit in the screw head anyway. What exact screw driver please?? I have tried Philips & Torx. Looking like then I might have to drill them out .. now to research that :(
Mine has the metallic looking part inside the plastic cover has most holes filled up with dust and dirt. Do those holes act like a vacuum or suction? Does it matter if holes are filled? If so, how do I clean that off? I tried to suck the dirt with another vacuum cleaner but didn't do it.
10:00 somehow thia red rubber and the grey plastic ring fell out by themselves without the largerscrewd on piece when i was just emptying the vacuum cleaner. So glad to finally fidn how it goes back together
did you do 11:20 in the video. if you feel that it is easies to put on then you might have broken your clips. check the small gray ring to see if it still has clips
