The connectors that you've come across that apparently go nowhere are probably utilized in sub assembly factory testing. Also utilized after the subassembly has been placed in the mainframe. Got to make sure that thing still works, ya know.

I wish I could find people to hang out with like yourself in real life, I know we'd have a blast nerding out about science instead dumb tiktok videos and celebrities and the like. When you showed the projection onto the ceiling, we both exclaimed how cool that was at the same time. haha

Haha glad you enjoyed the video! Do you have a community makerspace in your area? I find that nerds like ourselves tend to hang out in spaces like that. At least that is where I've made most of my ultra science nerdy friends!

"MR-Sensor" could mean magnetoresistive, referring to the sensor type. The little steel rings are likely not steel but a ferrite magnet. Stick it under some field viewing tape, you should see poles. The 2-color glue thing is likely not all glue - the heavy grey blobs would be epoxy, and the orange would likely be a second person's inspection mark. One person assembles it, the other confirms it's good, and probably puts a signature in the companion inspection sheet. The stage carrier motor is likely a for-reals 3-phase servo, or just a fast brushless motor with a gigantic reduction ratio and a coarse encoder. And yeah, judging by the way the UI looks, it's probably running WinCE.

glas-lenses worth:About 500$ The "rest": 99,500$ for the trappings around,gimmicks,gadgets and gizmos 😅 But i don´t see a greater market-segment for such expensive optical microscopes.Clever marketing of ZEISS to boost turnover? For this price you get electron-microscopes allready 36:00 I think this orange glue on the screws are for warranties and not for technical purposes.. But i think warranty expired after 20 years😅 And:10 nano-meter accuracy makes no sense for me here. I get brilliant 1000X pictures with my 60 year old ZEISS handadjusted. Are the 5 decimal-places right of the point( 38:37 ) a little show-effect?😉

Yeah, same opinion here. A brand new Olympus CX43 completely destroys this thing regarding optical features and image quality at $5000 brand-new, not to mention the size.
@lilanedaria
@lilanedaria Месяц назад
@@dobrecristianroI'm curious why do you think a CX43 is significantly better in optical quality?
@dobrecristianro
@dobrecristianro Месяц назад
@@lilanedaria Because the 100k one has only brighfield illumination, hence even higher extra costs to upgrade the condenser.
@lilanedaria
@lilanedaria Месяц назад
@@dobrecristianro Right, I agree with that. It is absurd that Zeiss microscopes don't come with turrets in their default configuration, especially at those price tag. But the optical quality on the 100k microscope is almost certainly better than the CX43 since the condenser displayed in this video is an achromatic aplanatic condenser and the one on the CX43 is a simple Abbe condenser according to Olympus website. The Zeiss Achroplan objectives are probably equivalent to the Olympus if not slightly better, and they have a wider field of view (23mm vs 20mm). As a sidenote, it's not terrible difficult to modify a condenser like that to add a turret, I've done it myself, and this RU-vidr seems to be well-versed in DIY. Might be an interesting project.

The introducion of the AXION M1 was 2005(!) And if you mind the value-loss of electronics or cars(halfing every 3 years) even remote you will come to one decimal less at least @@micro_safari

Currently you can find this model often on e-Bay with $5000. I agree, it was maybe 100 000, but now it's definitely worth only $5000-$7000 with brightfield optics installed. And Honestly, an Olympus CX43 brand-new for $5000 I believe it's a better choice considering the optical features and image quality. If this thing breaks, you will have a hard time fixing it or finding cheap parts.

@@lotharmayring6063 My comment imply that you buy your REM and you still have enough to buy a SWIFT SW380T for different purpose. My background is analytical instrumentation, I've worked with R&D folks for a while. It's always a great asset to have differents tool. The SW380T is not a toy. It's good enough to have it in a lab and you don't spend the whole budget on it. You don't always need the expensive tools, it all depend of the task. If you need fluorescence, REM and other stuff, obviously it cannot do it.
