A lot of videos coming! This was opening day, then we have the 2nd and 3rd days of the first week. Then we have the trip to the mountain with video from Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Another great video. I'm looking through yalls videos since I just found yalls channel. I was able to go out opening day and dang I heard idk how many shots all around and I didn't see anything. Last day of rifle season here in Oklahoma I was able to close out the season with 2 doe. Great video and definitely ready for some 2023 squirrel and deer hunting and other hunting videos. I was sitting our opening day at 04:30 waiting for legal shooting light 🤣 still didn't see anything until last couple days. God Bless From Oklahoma

Thanks, Josh. We have a lot of videos on the channel. Some of our older ones has some squirrel hunting, but we got so involved in bow hunting and the WV DNR changed the opening days on squirrel and archery, that we haven't done a lot of squirrel hunting lately, but that is going to change I believe this year. Back in the 80's that was the way it used to be up at our deer camp in the National Forest on opening day. Now when you go when you go to deer camp, you might count the shots on one had for opening morning. One of those reasons is now the deer herd has grown in every county here in WV, and hunters who use to drive 90 or more miles to hunt stay closer to home. Another reason could be that not many people hunt anymore, which is a shame. I remember back in the 80's that there were camps everywhere in the National Forest, and everyone was friendly and sociable. You would walk up to a camp, be greeted and even offered a hot cup of coffee. Not like that much anymore. Good luck to you this season and thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie - J & J TOA

Thanks, Dan!! Enjoyed watching your videos from camp as well. Yes, in my early years of hunting I would have times that I couldn't get the whole week off. But for the past 28 years that hasn't been a problem for me now. This was the first year though that I actually two the full two weeks off for hunting. I could of went ahead and worked the first three days of the first week, but I wanted to be in the woods, and I had the leave that I could take, so I did. I am working on the deer camp videos today. I will have both rifles at camp, and you will see both of them. Big Al will be hunting with his dad's 300 Savage and Jerod is hunting with his Remington 700 in 30-06. Thanks, Donald. Donald, if you're talking about my Cell-Link that I use with a non-cellular style camera, well yes and no. Mine does work, but Jerod never got his to work. The biggest issue with mine is the cellular service on our hunting lease. It is hit and miss. With the Cell-Link, you have to have pretty good signal for it to work properly. I will continue to see how it does this spring. At least it isn't like I have spent a few hundred dollars for something that doesn't work, the Cell-Link only cost me like $40 - $50. Not much shooting on my end of the state during the first day for me, nowhere near the numbers of people in the wood’s anymore moving deer and on my little piece of property we were in lockdown for the first part of the week…..makes for tough all day hunting. Thanks for sharing men👍

Wasn't that much shooting on our lease here in Fayette County. My good friend Robbie's son shot that nice 6 pointer across the holler on the next ridge from me, and I heard maybe a few other shots on Monday, but not like I would think there would have been. That is like up in Greenbrier County, back in the 80's and 90's you would hear shots all day long starting at day break all the way to sunset. You would see hunters, nowadays you set all day and maybe hear 4 or 5 shots and never see another hunter. People just don't hunt like they use to, the younger generation hasn't taken to hunting like our/my generation and the older generations. It was strange for me to be hunting the opening day on our lease and not up at camp. Just a feeling that it wasn't right. But we made up for that on the second week!! I thought I have not watched this video but I have I don't know if I had actually finished watching the entire video but I have now I'm almost finished with it now but if it would have been me I understand why y'all didn't that's cool y'all passed up on the spike been me I would have shot the spike and put it on the ground but I understand y'all season because you always had to y'all's camp but that's pretty cool that y'all got to see and that nice looking Spike and them those and that was awesome and I got to say y'all are awesome RU-vidrs I have only watched a little bit of y'all's videos because I just found y'all's channel last week and I think it's awesome that y'all are hunters and y'all hunt the right way in West Virginia because I am from West Virginia I live on Raleigh county West Virginia and you already have in Fayette county West Virginia not far apart at all or Fayetteville or wherever y'all live at but y'all live somewhere in Fayette and you know we are not very far apart at all and y'all hunt on The Greenbrier county West Virginia I think that's awesome and I would love to meet y'all one day maybe we will maybe we'll cross paths one day in the woods and see each other but never know

Welcome Josh to the channel. Yes, we live in Fayette County and aren't far from Raliegh County. During bow season and muzzleloader season we are hunting either on our 8,000-acre lease in northern Fayette County or down on Jerod's farm. For rifle season, we go to Greenbrier County to the Monongahela National Forest. I have been doing that for 40 years now. This is the reason, in this video, we were passing on any small buck. Knowing we would be leaving on Friday of the first week to go to Greenbrier County, we didn't want to shoot a small buck. One of the reasons was knowing that we would have to take it to a shop to get processed, and with us leaving on Friday, we wouldn't be around to go and pick it up from the shop. Now, if it would have been a large rack buck, that would have been a different story, and we might have had to left for deer camp on Saturday or Sunday instead of Friday. What part of West Virginia do y'all live in I'm from West Virginia as well I did not have a good hunting season this year in 2022 I miss one on the second day of gun season and didn't hurry see anything else after that but didn't get one this year I'll try my luck in 2023 so we still have a little bit of both season left here well y'all know that because y'all are from West Virginia so I still have a chance to get that buck and I also got a doe Raleigh county West Virginia

We are located in Fayette County and hunt on our 8,000-acre lease here in Fayette County during archery and muzzleloader season. During buck season we are usually up on Greenbrier County but due to some issues the first week we hunted the lease the first two days, Jerod hunted his farm and then the second week we went to Greenbrier County for 9 days. Dave that is one of several 3D decoys we have in our bow range down on the farm. Jerod had gotten that decoy when he worked at Walmart. Someone had stolen the horns, and no one was going to buy it, and even after marking it down no one was going interested in it. Finally Walmart was going to put it in the dumpster and Jerod asked what they wanted for it, and he ended up buying it. We have had that thing for probably 9 or 10 years. Now it sets out there with the Glendale Buck and the Shooters Buck decoys as well as some block type targets. Thanks for watching and commenting Dave. Juddie - J & J TOA

Sorry about that bearclaw bill. Will try and keep a check on that, of course you can turn up the volume, but beware, when Big Al talks you will have to turn the volume down. You know I am in the woods hunting, and I don't want to talk to loud and spook anything. But when I do the next video and go through the editing, I can increase the volume on the video clip.
