Its just crazy how much treasure is left from all of the war. It shows on what scale these battles were fought. I was always fascinated by history. It’s mind blowing to me seeing another piece of our world’s history that was lost. My mothers great great grandparents met during WW2. I heard stories about how my grandfather was against the war, but fought and fled as soon as he could. They did everything they could to keep that part of their past from their children. Their children eventually came to the US from Ireland and have been here since. As someone that is from the US thanks for sharing it all with me.

They all seem to be roughly the same depth under ground, and I am quite positive that none of the soldiers buried their belongings, so it makes me wonder, has the cycles of nature (trees decaying over many years, plus rain, and other natural elements) put a layer of "dirt" over all these things, and perhaps the depth that you find these pieces at was back then the ground level?

The time capsule looks like a french lebel/ berthier leather ammo pouch. This could have belonged to a french SS volunteer of the SS division Charlemagne. It makes sense with the discovery of coins from Scandinavian countries as the french SS were attached to SS division Nordland for the battle of Berlin. The last commander of division Nordland was Gustav Krukenberg and before he was commanding Charlemagne division. Krukenberg came to Berlin with around 200 french SS of his former unit.

So...I guess this expedition 'took place' in Poland...?!? Personal objects (relics...) are always awesome ! That 'big' pouch...I didn't see until now that kind... Impressive "Time capsule" ! Thanks for watching! My guess is that Mike will follow up with some content soon as well! We have detected around Berlin. My guess is that stragglers of Nord ended up in this pocket. Besides this, the 169th Infantry Division fought alongside Nord in Finland but finally ended up in this pocket as a whole. I think this explains the Scandinavian finds.

Metal detecting seems like an awesome hobby, however I feel that when you find things of a personal nature, look for a way to identify the owner of objects like that pouch, then put it back in the hole it after all may be all that's left of a fallen soldier, respect should be garnered to such objects.

Morbid question, but do you all ever find bones? I would think at some point, buttons and coins would belong to a decayed uniform that might have still been on a body that was never recovered. Not where you are for this example, but we hear all the time about the mud in the trenches sucking up soldier's bodies, whether they were dead or alive, never to be seen again. Just (morbidly) curious...

I visited my brother in the Air Force while he was stationed in Germany almost 40 yrs ago. There was one particular place that had a memorial set up for some fallen American soldiers. Basically it was cut out in the woods and nothing else around. I didn't realize that unlike in the US everything would be removed. My brother and I were talking when I noticed some kids walk into the woods. A few minutes later one of the kids walks out cradling a bomb. We didn't hang around...wow.

Hello, It's great when you put the videos in there , it shows us where the finds are coming from and it puts us in that time frame, very moving , and I also want to say RIP to all who passed away during the wars, and we will also never forget your sacrifices Thank You.

The picture in the cuffling is coat of arms of Karelia. Why would a german SS officer have a Finnish Karelia cuffling? 🤔
