Let's be honest, if Bart hadn't done that, how much longer would the teachers bottle it up before they reach their breaking point? So really he did them a favor
As weird as this sounds, I used to get a little sad when I saw this part of the episode. I felt so sorry for the little girl and the line delivery just hit in the feels for me.
If you think about it they are much better than Ms. Hoover who seems completely apathetic and antagonistic to the kids. Skinner and Edna know Barts a troublemaker but treat him like you would a child rather than an enemy
Ah yes, the forbidden music Playing it leads to hefty punishment of the teacher acknowledging that he heard you playing it before promptly leaving. Risky business.
Unfortunately it was banned in my country (Muslim majority country). They literally had Adam and Eve's story in the 10th grade biology book. You can't make this sh!t up My biology teacher, the badass she is, did teach us evolution but she didn't call it "evolution" so that none of the kids would complain to the school. She basically said "There's lots of evidence nowadays that..." and she basically just gave a basic rundown of evolution
The Satanic Verses: Junior Illustrated Edition has to be my favorite hilarious underrated joke because of how stupid it is to even be in that shot. Imagine that causing controversy.
So this is what the fire alarm gag was referencing in Hit and Run. "Remain calm, students; all is well in the school. My authority as principal is total."
I do remember that Mr. Largo was also really uptight when it came to music. He used to constantly call out Lisa for trying to be creative and play jazz like in the Season 1 episode Moaning Lisa
Theory of Evolution is on there because there's a looooooong history of bible thumping wacko politicians trying to ban it and trying to replace it with creationism/intelligent design/whatever idiotic term they come up with to try and make it seem like a real science.
@@nuraby_9228 You don't have to be religious to realize how many holes the theory of evolution has. Even Darwin didn't entirely believe in it, but they don't talk about that, do they? Also, theories are not facts.
@@Yabuturtle Dude, you obviously don't understand what the word "theory" means. I guess you are mixing it up with the word "hypothesis. " In reality the Theory of Evolution has undergone a lot more rigour, observation and experimentation and is certainly more credible than the any hypothesis that comes from a holy book whose authorship is not only basically unknown but comes from an ancient time where rational, scientific thinking was unknown.
The wise rabbi t says: "If you fight it's just a matter of time when you'll lose. But if you let fight others then you'll always win - also just a matter of time." Bart: "Hmmmm...."
I was one of the writters on this episode, we were from a school in New Jeresey allowed to sit in writters room during the process of creating a draft for an episode, we each added a few of our own lines and jokes, which they tweaked a bit, but we were credited at the end of this episode as part of the writting team.
Bart and the rest of the kid were happy about the teachers strike except for Lisa as she is becoming obsessive with being graded. Seriously that girl really need to chill out like the rest of her clasmates as it's not the end of the world.
