I always enjoy the longer videos. I have plenty on my channel. That's the nature of switching. Plus I think it's harder to film yourself operating a switching layout than other situation. Keep up the great work!

Rick: if you're even remotely serious about having people over to operate the layout you are going to have to spend a LOT of quality time fixing your coupler issues. Nothing will ruin a session faster than having issues that can be rather easily fixed. Get a good couple height gauge - the one Kadee has is my go-to and use that as a standard for all your couplers. Your future ops will love you for that and your solo ops will be so much smoother.

About inviting people to come over. For an obsessions. You have to realize that you have your own little world. And you'll love it. The minute you invite. People over things break, Things are missing. Frustrations that's in. By the way I'm three drinks deep tequila sunrises. I love this.

also rick @ 7:22... an operational tip for ALL... to facilitate uncoupling, push the coupler slack IN before attempting to uncouple... life will be so much easier

Love the longer video, Rick. The variety and mix of an additional 'interference' train was interesting and entertaining. Maybe something to do in the video series like once a month with this sort of video and then you normal fare during the rest of the month. whatever you decide to go with, I liked it a lot. Man, I sure wish I could come over when or if you an operation session. I rather just watch, because I really wouldn't to ruin anything. You put a lot of time money and passion on this layout and I rather just watch it in person instead of youtube.

Hey Rick, nice long operations video. I loved it. Having someone else run the other locomotive is a great idea. I would volunteer, but unfortunately I live way over here on the Mississippi Coast. Having the hauler running was nice as well. I was thinking you were gonna have the local go to the runaround/passing track around the curve past the horse corral and wait for the hauler to pass. Your idea of the push/pull rod with the pinion gear knob is nice. I wouldn't blame you if you made all of the switches in the back that way. Love your channel. Keep up the good work. Always fun to watch.

Very nice and enjoyable video. At our club we run a mix of some complex "switching puzzles" and some simple ones. Member new to the operations session we hold once a month can start out with the simple ones first. This has proven to be very successful.

I thought you were going to keep the hauler going and have another meet on the run around/passing siding before entering the yard. That would have been cool and only another couple of minutes added to the vid. I mean after an hour what difference does it make :) Anyway looking forward to your industrial kitbashes. Nice long one for the holiday weekend. I watched about 10 minutes Friday night then realized the length would perfect with my Saturday morning coffee. I loved everything about it! Kudos to you on your switch rod mechanism, flawless! I also must commend you on your diligence with filming and operating by yourself. I have been making more Ops videos myself and even using a tripod I still get buggered up sometimes. What do you use for a microphone? I am doing my vids on an iPhone and I just tries AirPods. I don’t think they worked but I am going to keep trying. Happy switching!!
