I’m definitely impressed OPI is doing some unique things lately, but I’ll be passing on this collection like the last one. Just really not my thing. Thanks for sharing!
You are ALWAYS one of the first to provide swatches!!! I really hope this collection goes well for OPI, because I want them to keep trying new things... but I REALLY dislike these sheer polishes!!! I‘m not going to be buying. 😣
"I really hope opi does well with this collection" " but i wont be buying". And pretty much every comment says the same thing. So im pretty sure they wont be too successful with this. Hopefully they take the criticism and reformulate to make them better though.
@@jamesstephanski5893 This is the second swatch I watched. I immediately purchased the 6 regulars. It's odd because on the other channel everyone was super excited about them. When I started reading comments here, I was surprised. LOL
Proud of OPI for trying but these disappointed me with how sheer they are. I thought I was going to love this collection but I'll pass. Thank you for swatching so I didn't have to spend money trying them!
I already preordered all the Infinite Shine and Magic Hour! But now I need the rest of the regular collection😍 I’ve loved the last two collections OPI had put out!! And I love polish pick!!!
So happy to see shimmers back after a very long absence. Revisted: I rewatched this after 7 months and decided I want them all! However, I have to decide on two or so. I’m really into frosty colors. They are so retro seventies like me. These are sheer enough to be versatile too.
I was so looking forward to you swatching this collection because I love OPI, but, I'm very disappointed. The flakies in the polish are so pretty and I love flakies but I don't like these. 😞 What do you think about these being toppers? Like the pink on a pink nail polish and so on? Thank you so very much for swatching these.😊
I love that opi finally did something exciting. But its too late for me, I've fallen down the indie rabbit hole. Just the 10 indies I have, have made the other 159 bottles of nail polish obsolete lol
I pre-ordered this collection from polish pick. I ordered the regular collection and now that I’m seeing your swatches, I’m disappointed. I don’t like that they are so sheer.
I think this is my favorite big brand collection this year, along with Essie's let it ripple collection. I have all the non pinks and the infinite shines in the mail. Can hardly wait. Feels like colors from 1981! Fav- the sheer yellow Ray-diance
You look so pretty! Your makeup is perfect (that shade of eyeshadow is stunning with your eye color), and your polka dot top is classic! Beautiful! The polishes were fun to look at but not something I will purchase. Thank you for a great review!
I love the idea behind these polishes but don’t like how sheer they are. I wonder if they’d make a better topper over white/black like the Barry m under the sea collection
Thank you for the video. I agree with your thoughts 💯. (& Some of those greens are particularly interesting for OPI.) Rainbows A GoGo stood out to me as well. 👍💜
Love these colors and all of the interesting color shifts, but the last ones are sooo sheer. If these were more opaque I'd buy the whole collection. I'm definitely getting some from the infinite shine collection.
2nd X watching this. I found the line of sheer micro flaky polishs at Walgreens, and picked them up. I enjoy the sheer formula on top of corresponding OPI shades. ie. “I’m so Swamped” under “Gleam On!”. Not all nail polish has to be opaque. Thank you for the video! ❤️👍
I really like how the flakies on the original formula look. I only wish they made the polishes more opaque!! I'm not a fan of sheer or doing 3 coats. lol
I like that they did something different. Im not a fan of sheer polish, but theres only so much you can do with creams. Agree with your favorite picks from each collection. Thanks for showing them!
OhMyGoodness. I LOVE these polishes. I just purchased all 6 of the regular formula. I wish I had 6 fingers on both hands I'll have to do ombres. I am so excited to wear rainbows :) Thanks for hosting such thorough swatching. When you do ombres, do you have a problem with cross contamination? Do you use a "neutral" brush to mix and cover the center?
Just received mine yesterday from Polish Pick. Got the whole Infinite Shine set and the blue from the regular line. Haven't swatched them myself, but agree with the majority here that they are very sheer. Thanks for the video because I will probably use my Fancy Gloss sheers (I have all Jackie's sheer colors) as a base with the matching OPI over top. Love your videos!
Hmmm. I like a few of these but not sure they are for me. Normally I buy the whole collection, maybe this time. Thanks for swatching Phoebe. Jan in the UK.
thank you for doing this, pretty colors! not planning to get any of them however as 3 to 4 coats takes more time and effort than I am willing to devote so I'd have to use them as toppers and that's not my favorite look
Was really looking forward for this collection. They are not what I expected. Think I wil not be buying them. Hope the autumn collection will be great.
Beautiful swatches! I'm glad I don't like these polishes, I've been spending too much anyway. To me, these kind of look like they should be for a Spring collection, maybe to do some Easter nails.
Those greens have my attention!! Think I'll pick up all of those and try the purples over some undies, too, as I'm no fan of VNL. I used to collect OPI before I found indie polish and am always happy when they do something a lil more exciting than their good ole reliable cremes.
Which is your favorite indie brand? I just dicovered indie brands and im really indecisive, so i can't figure out which one to try first. They're quite expensive too, so i really cant just pick up one from each brand. Ive been looking at starrily, ilnp, cirque, holo taco, and others for about a week now and i feel no closer to reaching a decision. I would really appreciate a recommendation. ☺
Have you looked at Polish Pickup yet? It's a huge collection of indie makers that get together each month and make a polish based on a monthly theme voted for by customers. They are currently doing "wishlisting" this week, where you can look at and wishlist your favorite polishes, then they will go up for sale on the 5th-8th. It's a great way to find indie makers (there's 100+ polishes to choose from!) and get some awesome polishes. Highly recommend, but there are so many pretty polishes, it can get addicting! 😊
I so agree about checking out Polish pick-up! Lots to choose from, mix & match and save with low shipping from one place! Then you can really get a feel for what works in the collection you're trying to build! 😊 Right now I'm really loving Ethereal, Glam (always!) and of course Moonshine Mani. But man, there's soooo many talented makers, my wallet can't keep up!! Hella Handmade Creations is another great collaboration to look into when trying to get a broad spectrum taste. Have fun!
@@nofunangie i just saw my first video reviewing some of their stuff i think yesterday. I didn't know all of what you judt said, i just saw this one video. I thought that whatever it was that I saw was pretty, but i ended up thinking that id probably like other brands better because the polishes in this video all needed at least three coats. Like i said, i cant really afford to get addicted to them. So im trying to find what i would like best before buying anything. I think too many choices make it more difficult. I know i want a good linear holo top coat, ive never seen that stuff before. And i need to find a long lasting base coat that doesn't cost $18 like maxus, which is the only one thats been recommended to me so far. Ive also been looking at the multichrome polishes. But a lot of bands do similar things and i can be difficult choosing the best one. Im afraid im going to want the exact same thing from a different brand a week later cuz they might have a better formula.
I agree with most of the opinions on here, that they are far too sheer. Hopefully, they would work better as toppers. They certainly look lovely in your great video, if we can all be bothered to do the 3 coats. Many thanks for your efforts in showing them to us as I only ever buy OPI nail products.
I live in the UK and buy from this great company at cheaper prices. www.nailpolishdirect.co.uk/nail-polish-collections-c76/opi-hidden-prism-2020-summer-collection-c1076?OPI_Hidden_Prism_Collection__Preorder_now_FIRST_NAME&A%2F%2Fwww.nailpolishdirect.co.uk%2Fnail-polish-collections-c76%2Fopi-hidden-prism-2020-summer-collection-c1076&OPI_Hidden_Prism_Collection__Preorder_now_FIRST_NAME
Thank you so much for the swatches!! Moon Shine Mani should do some sort of opaque base coat to hide VNL- that would be perfect for a collection like these! A your nails but better type of base coat- that would make these much more appealing. There are a couple indie brands that have a product like that, but I'd love a MSM one!!!!!
If it’s a great color I don’t care about the number of coats it takes. I could buy all the greens, the yellows, the blue. Not gonna go outta my way to find them but if their in front of me ....🌺
I appreciate your swatches as always but these polishes are just, uhm, exactly the opposite of what I like (to put it nicely)... throw in some chunky glitter and you'll have my perfect anti-polish xD.
They look very much like the last collection, with the shimmer finishes, don't you think? It's almost like they just released the Infinite Shine collection in regular formula and the regular formula collection in Infinite Shine this time... But not quite. I'm not too excited about these, to be honest. But I always love your videos anyways!
I think I will pass on this collection! The colours looked so cool when they were announced but now that I see them swatched they are disappointing 😞 hope their fall collection will be awesome again!
While it’s nice to see mainstream polish finally doing flakies and proper amounts of shimmer, they don’t seem as good as many indie makers. Plus, I’d much rather support an indie maker’s business.
Like much of OPI, I like it in the bottle but not on the nail. The ability to carry over impressive effects from glass bottle to nail just doesn’t happen, unlike the best indies. I do appreciate the attempt.
Not sure what's going on with OPI lately but this collection is a huge pass. No way am I spending my money on a collection that needs 3 or more coats per polish. I've been so disappointed with OPI collections this past year.
