Wow the caller that was talking about Korsikoff Syndrome was DEAD ON! He said he'd heard of cases where, one question in, the patient would completely forget where they were. As we all know, a mere two years later at most, Lady Di thought she was on a fucking Navy ship! Crazy to look back and stumble across that beauty of a prediction these few years later!

I just listened to “I saw the sign” episode with Louie Ck and there is nothing in this world that is less funny besides opie podcast then that episode. I have no idea what they were thinking when they put her on. But yes I give opie credit for lady di. Still can’t stand the dude but eh whatevs tss
To be clear Opie was always the best at sizing people up talent wise, and exploiting every single second of whatever they could give. He did help some of those people behind the scenes... but his astronomical lack of self-awareness and other mental issues that have been revealed can't be ignored or forgotten. Opie was the best coat tail rider in the history of radio.

I've heard an absolutely ridiculous amount of O&A shows, and I'm kinda more or less desensitized to Opie's cringe at this point just so I can enjoy the show I mentally filter it out... But I remember that episode EXTREMELY clearly for being one of the most horrific things ever lmfao. That girl was not funny, singing songs badly is not funny, and they had her sing it live which was bad enough, but then Opie later on in the show MADE HER SING THE SAME SONG AGAIIINN. So embarrassing to be that cringe especially in front of Louie, he always tries to solicit compliments from CK too and like hint at how amazing their show is and how every other radio show is terrible blah blah, makes me embarrassed for not just opie but the whole show lol

No. My interpretation is she still didn't understand the diiings. She was trying to be in on the joke but only knew that they rung a bell and laughed so she made a ding to make the boys laugh without realizing she was the butt of the joke.
1:13:00 It sucks because that's exactly what she has. This show is how I first heard of the condition. At least I've been able to point it out to someone that has an alcoholic relative so they can be prepared.
As much as I used to hate Diane for being annoying, whatever hell that lady went through as a child/young woman must’ve been insane. Something so bad she never wanted to face reality ever again.

I'm not gonna be one of those people that completely shits on Opie. Sometimes he can have a funny moment and he obviously knows radio... but you have to admit he's of lower intelligence. The amount of basic shit he misses out on is ridiculous, "Wait... what's an automatic sink?" Jeez.
If you ask him he was really amazing at math and science as a kid. I mean ant built model rockets and has a weird fascination with orbits and math and shit... but the opsters the real genius when it comes to matters mathematical.

Great upload and edit. There's a lot to hate about Opie but he was actually really funny at 28:30 and surprisingly didnt hammer it over and over again like he usually does.
p drysdale opie was funny alot more times than people are willing to admit. He might have been tapping into the instant feedback here and there, but he was a big a part of the show. More than the steering the ship banter.

Di might be the worst alcoholic who has ever lived - even in this video when she has liver juice spilling into her abdomen making her fat, she still doesn't admit she's an alcoholic. Scary stuff.
Far from the worst. She was/is in a terrible state, no doubt, but she only drank Natty Ice. People literally put holes in their stomach (along with the liver and dementia problems) from drinking a gallon or more every day of the cheapest priced vodka out there, and still say they have their drinking under control and can quit whenever they want, they just don't need to because "other people drink more than I do". I do feel that that level of alcoholism is worse to me (i.e. people who only drink alot of beer) though, a 30pack of beer is non-alcohol compared to a gallon of vodka but it comsumes their life just as much and their denial about it is just as bad. There's something about a person being just as addicted as someone else who consumes a product 100x more powerful that really scares me. I guess it'd be like comparing an Opium addict to a Heroin addict. It's essentially the same product their both addicted to, just one is much more concentrated. But because the more concentrated form even exists (hard liqour in this case) I can't understand how people get addicted so badly to the weaker one (beer)

She was a deeply depressed and lonely woman, and when you literally haven't got anything else that brings you any joy or happiness then you'll continue to self destruct even knowing you're dying

Jim loves to pretend that he was such an alcoholic and that his "recovery" is so important but he was completely confused and wondering why lady di was so sick.
