I have to agree with Patrice, I've been living in philly since last summer, and I go in the city constantly and use the subway etc.. No homeless black guy has ever been threatening so far, I feel like as long as you avoid certain parts you'll be fine
I'm not really one to speak on this as I am not American however I have (in my experience) never had any sort of crime or seen any sort of crime or I have never had any problems with black people, maybe it's because I have been around poorer white areas and seen that people of my own race have acted like trash I have seen white people riot and fight eachother and have seen an assault I have never seen this behavior with black people in my area. I'm not trying to be politically correct with this I'm trying to be fair in saying that I think every race has its trash and unfortunately the media like to race bait and create fear and seperation amongst eacother.

Jews were slaves to the romans, many people consider them white. Also, the word "slave" came from SLAV as in the SLAVIC people. Whites were among the first to be enslaved.

Regardless the Romans did not enslave groups based on color like colonial slavery, it was just the state post war for the side of the losers depending on the terms. This is why Jews know they are Jews and didn’t just assimilate to the Roman culture vs Colonial slaves which were normally forced to stop practicing their traditions and accept the practices of their Masters.
