But most of us absolutely do acknowledge that in many respects our country is a fucking joke - ironically it's not very 'British' to get embarrassed by your own country's faults, we just mock those faults along with the rest of the world.
Sadiq Khan has been the best Mayor London has had for a long time, a vast improvement over the dopey Boris Johnson. For the fact that the royals are such an attraction for tourists I see their price being worth it tbh. But I wouldn't be bothered if it ended. It'll be interesting to see what happens after the Queen dies. The SJW/PC police and people who get mad about "the patriarchy" won't want to have a King.

It's already been said, but fact is most of us Brits don't give a flying fuck about the 'Royal Family'. They're not a real monarchy anymore, they're just a tourist attraction, and in fairness as a tourist attraction they actually do a good job - a surprising amount of tourists come from other countries just to see the Royals, which I cannot fathom why but as long as they're spending their money here I won't complain. They actually bring in more money from tourism than is spent on them in taxes, so I'm find with them existing. But literally 90% of Brits do not respect them or have any interest in them. This image Americans have of us all looking up to the Royal Family and being proud is hilarious. Also, the idea that an American is going to hurt our feelings by mocking the Royal Family....you honestly can't mock them more than we do.
