I don’t think Norton is being a tough guy at all. He knows he isn’t tough. He talks about honesty and courage and a speaks those things. Norton doesn’t give a fuck. Fake tough guy shit is when you talk and you don’t do.
Ben was a mega barker, never bit. Except when he sprayed liquid ass on that stern fan walkover, and he only did it because he had security to pull the guy off him. Then he lied about it, video proved him wrong, and he got fired. Then barked at opie for years until the courts got involved.
I agree with Jimmy, I don't respect anyone threatening to hit me if I don't do what they want. Either go ahead and do it, or don't. Don't say you're gonna do it and then stand there like an ass when I tell you to go ahead.
You're worth is what someone is willing to pay you. If you flip burgers you aren't underpaid even though McDonald's makes billions. A monkey could do that job and it's a very replaceable position.
One of the rare moments Opie made a valid point: if you can't laugh at Jimmy's absurdity, fine. But if that's the case AND you work on the show, that's a problem.

Years later Ben would literally stalk Opie and the police would issue a restraining order. But the problem is that it is hard to know when it is a radio segment and when these guys break character and are being real. In this case Ben was an actual psychopath.

What are some of you dissing Jimmy for? Jim isn’t acting like a tough guy here. His reaction is literally due to the other guy acting like a tough guy and Jimmy saying he’s full of shit.
My problem with Jimmy is that he called guys out in the back for not doing their job but apparently an email describing exactly what was happening was sent out. He wants to be hands off and not read or acknowledge the emails and that’s fine but don’t act blindsided. The email was sent to make him aware of what’s going on and so he can provide input on it. He doesn’t want to read it, he shouldn’t cry about it later.

@@jessehopson291 Completely agree. Love Jimmy, and yeah, it wasnt his show, but his lack of preparation for the show was absurd. He always played it off as being a "reactionary comedian", but even though his name wasnt on the bill, from all ive heard on this show and his own mouth, the only thing he did behind the scenes, was invite his comedian buddies on the show. Funny as hell, but man he made easy money. And with all those plugs? He raked it in for a guy who just showed up and bullshitted with friends.

So that means either A ben is lying through his ass about even sending an email out or B. didnt write it and had someone else write it up and send it

When Jim Norton does his "Steven from Yellowstone" calls, occasionally he will call in as "ben from boston" as well. I cant find any compilations of jim acting as ben from boston !
You only hear him during the “Ramone” calls. I’ve heard him a few times as Ben but I can’t give specific videos because ramone/Steve from Yellowstone is the subject.
I love that this is the same dude who started the Bam sex tape rumor. They should've known this dude was unhinged at this point being that hes supposed to be a PRODUCER and comes in threatening the talent with violence over a vague insult towards management.

Jimmy doesn’t come out looking good in this segment either. At this point he tries to act like he’s hands off on everything. He comes in later, he doesn’t read the emails that are sent out, and he really never knows what’s going on and he even claimed he does that because that’s how he wants to perform. All of that is fine but he can’t start calling out guys in the back for not doing their job when he has no idea what’s going on. Ben said an email went out saying what the girl was going to do. He doesn’t check or respond to emails so he has no idea and he just calls out guys on the air for not doing their job. Ben should have went in there, told Jim that the email went out and told him if you checked it, you would already know what the deal is. Jimmy is acting like everyone was blindsided to the fact the girl wasn’t going to get naked but the email he sent told everyone what she was going to do. Maybe if Jimmy checked his email he could have complained about it before it happened and instead of being oblivious to everything and complaining about it after the fact.
There were times Jimmy and Travis should've gone at it over things Norton knew nothing about but Travis was too passive aggressive to put Norton in his place. People say Opie was the thin skinned diva when it was consistently Jimmy that threw temper tantrum
I think Ben regretted his stupid empty physical threat pretty quick. The guy had no leverage and weak bravado at best, and after Jimmy said "JUST DO IT" he sounded like a stuttering fool trying to save face.

Jimmy is annoying in this segment. His whole “will people just say what’s on their mind” is ironic coming from him. When he had that argument with Steve about the watermarking, he was completely passive aggressive. He clearly had something he wanted to say but just didn’t. Yet he tells people “I say what I say and I’m specific.”

What also annoys me about Jimmy here is how much he wants to be hands-off on all decisions made behind the scenes, yet also wants to yell at people for the decisions made behind the scenes. If he doesn’t want to check his emails because he doesn’t think they serve him any purpose, I don’t know how he can justify criticizing the decisions after the fact. It’s like asking someone what they want to eat, they say “I’m good with whatever” and then when they get the food they are like “wtf? I don’t want this”

Yes! I read that too. And this is him. Someone from the comments when I asked for details if anyone knew said that apparently Ben got arrested and did community service for it. Dunno if it’s officially the story though.
