Opie really brought this beating on to himself. The way he persisted with the story, that a room full of comedians were already working on, he should have expected this. It's still funny to me that one of the only thrashings of Opie was a hypothetical surreal joke-fest about an event that didn't even happen to him, and he's still so uncomfortable and it's also one of the most celebrated clips of Opie getting a beating.
TL2354 you’re not very perceptive, I’d recommend you listen to “burnt Bobby” which is basically the same exact scenario of a hypothetical injury and see how bob kelly handles it.
This is the greatest pounding ever, partly because there was real vitriol behind it. Who knew that when Ant and Jimmy left he would be comically paralyzed.
GovernorVentura I find it hilarious that all the regular comics that used to love the show with Anthony and Jimmy all disowned the hack dopie as soon as possible. It really speaks volumes to the lack of respect they all had for him.
When Ant lets slip the "Say hi to your mother for me, because she ain't sticking around" you know that one cut deep. Just letting his true feelings out. Stupid Opie thought this was a deep story, and the room tears him to shreds.
This bit on Opie being paralyzed, and the show it's originally from .... ("The Spinning Comedy Wheel Of Death Show" from September 16 2010) ....is probably my all-time favorite bit/show in all of O&A history
It's sad that people have to point out when he finally plays along or if he says anything remotely funny. He is fishing for those sympathy comments from ruthless comics. ZILCH.

What's really scary is Dopie thinking he had any talent or positive qualities, or that he contributed anything of value in 20 years of ray dee oh ....brotha man brotha man, just loved hearing Ant, Bobby, Jimmy and Vos just absolutely Destroy the Destroyer.....fawkkk yeahhh Opester just another bs silly story, Home Run GH !!!

Definitely recommend looking up the full audio from that day, it was quite a brutal one... This story was just an attempt for Opie to sound interesting since we all know he's always the least funny guy in the room at any given moment. The kicker is Opie just doesn't shut the fuck up about it and he keeps coming back to it but when they keep piling on with the jokes he becomes oversensitive Opie who can barely take the joke.

It was joking based on a hypothetical scenario.... he is such a pussy. The actual funny guests along with Anthony and jimmy used to destroy each other in a brutal fashion constantly.
The only time Opie can actually take a joke is when its a hypothetical situation that never happened and it has nothing to do with his character. How all these comedic geniuses put up with him for more than a decade is beyond me.
