I feel bad for Opie... You can tell he is so uncomfortable in this job. He knows he has absolutely nothing funny to say, no comebacks, nothing. And he's constantly in a room with some of the funniest people alive.
Q Crew I don’t. He made a great living from it and comedians need something to make fun of. The problem is comedians are miserable people behind the jokes and they turned it into actual hatred for the guy. This was a great dynamic. You don’t want a bunch of comedians in a room competing as it gets hacky. Opie served a purpose and any true O&A fan would admit that. Anthony’s show is awful by himself and so is Jim & Sam. Not funny and the Chip Chipperson and Anthony constantly talking about Opie is just awful cringe clinging to fan service in hopes to retain O&A fans. That says something. Even the hatred of Opie is apart of the show. Ending it wasn’t the solution.

What's strange is celebrities normally would do this to regain relevancy. But both Anthony & Opie are more than well off and have enough money to retire and don't need to relevancy at this point. Although maybe Anthony's subscriber base is not as good as he's claiming and he's running out of money with all the booze and shit he bought to put on his show. I understand they keep doing "radio" because they are passionate and love doing it. But to "clickbait" people with Opie bashing when they literally don't need to, it seems like a desperate attempt to stir up controversy without rehashing old shit. ANYBODY who is a hardcore O&A fan and would appreciate the Opie bashing already knows about Anthony's show. So he really needs to expand his horizons and try doing something controversial that will reach a wider audience if that's what he wants. Anthony himself and typical O&A fans will just say I'm an "Opie alt account" but if you check my channel you'll see that I do radio myself. I'm nowhere near as good as any of these guys, but I have no reason to lie or be biased.

Opie was truly uncomfortable with REAL comedy talent in the room. It’s been said that Opie “found” Anthony and gave him his start, which is great, Anthony IMMEDIATELY became the TALENT in the room! Anthony’s back must have really hurt carrying Opie all those years. Opie by himself would’ve been one the DJ’s he himself disparaged openly on the show.
Anthony is and always has been a comedic genius and master impressionist.. Ant and brother Joe sent their parody songs to multiple radio stations at that time.. Opie was one of the bunch of them that Ant reached out to. Opie saw $ signs and a way for him to cruise through life doing the least amount of work possible by riding Anthony’s coattails.. The End!
