The biggest misconception is that Americans named football "soccer". The name soccer was invented and used for over 50 years in England.

Lowering the hoop for the WNBA is actually a really good idea. No one would watch anyway, though.

I miss Patrice. RIP legend. I will leave this here tho. Soccer never took off here because the networks couldn't figure out how to make commercial money off of it because there's no stoppage in play, other sports were pushed. (This was in the 60s and 70s)

I am a big Soccer fan, but I get Patrice. If its the PLayoffs, or Copa America or World Cup or some DO OR DIE situation where someone has to be eliminated it's one of the most exciting and unpredictable games ever.
