Of course there's a fine line between what's unacceptable and what people should probably just learn to get over. But there's no line to even be crossed because damn near everything is considered abuse if a woman wants to consider it abuse.

I can't believe JIM is sitting here talking about how leering is wrong when that's him in a nutshell. He's admitted time and time again about his creepiness. Even just recently talking about hitting on a waitress who didn't show any signs of wanting to pursue anything with him and He keeps going back to wear her down. His mind works in mysterious ways. The problem is that you can still get in trouble even when your actions are welcome by the recipient. For example, if a third party overhears you making advances towards another person, and that person is more than happy for the attention, the third-party can still report you. The fucked up thing is that if they're jealous that you're paying attention to someone else, they can simply report you to get their silent revenge.

People are treating any minor attempt at attractive behavior on the male part in the workplace and blatant sexual harassment as the same crime and then defending the idea that women shouldn't be held to the same standards because their motives are inherently pure and unquestionable.

The problem is, as I see it, that while there is a valid need for a punishment for sexual harassment, because no one should be verbally, or physically accosted in the workplace, however, I think the problem lies in vague and poorly defined parameters for the term "sexual harassment."

Opie made a good point when he said the company will kick you to the curb in a heartbeat. Now there are plenty of instances where someone did or said something that absolutely warranted being fired, but companies will sell you out in a second if a controversy arises that could ever possibly damage their image. They play it safe and aren't afraid to do whatever it takes to avoid a possible scandal. Depending on the company, a casual faux pas that might be interpreted as sexual harassment could result in a man getting fired without any questions. They don't want lawyers getting involved or bad press coming out.

On a related note about companies and how they react to controversy, there's a comedian from the UK called Stewart Lee who has a bit about a company called the Carphone Warehouse and the statement they released when people on a reality show they sponsored were accused of racism. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W2firijxQOo.html I won't butcher it but the link is above. Essentially the company released a statement saying "racism is entirely at odds with the values of the Carphone Warehouse". Lee made the point that the only "values" of the Carphone Warehouse are "sell more phones". Now it's even worse with companies firing people for any opinion that isn't totally agreed upon as acceptable and they are all phoney trying to pretend they care about people when their only goal is to be profitable

I remember hearing about one feminist 'study' that asked thousands of men questions about women and sex, that determined something like 80% of men between the ages of 15 and 28 think "forcing your partner to have sex with you against her will is ok". Shocking figures, right? Then someone looked into it, and it turned out the question in this questionnaire actually asked "Is it ever acceptable to have sex with your partner when she doesn't want to?" - which of course is _not_ the same question as "Is rape acceptable?". It completely ignores scenarios where the woman is simply 'not in the mood' but puts out for her partner for his sake, whether to just be nice or just to stop him complaining. Most long-term couples would be lying through their teeth if they said they'd _never_ put out for their partner even though they weren't into it at all - I'd even wager close to 80% of couples would say that - but these feminists just completely ignored that scenario, and chose to count all those 'yes's ' as 'yes' to rape. This is how people twist statistics and 'studies' to show whatever the fuck they want it to. I never pay attention to anyone when they start throwing '1 in X' statistics at me anymore, unless they can provide me with details on who conducted the study, _how_ they conducted it, and why.

Real simple....watch any video of a male cop pulling over a female where she was breaking the law (driving drunk, suspended license, speeding, etc) and in 2 seconds flat the women all say the same thing: "I feel as though I am being harassed." It's bullshit. In the workplace or anywhere else, 99 out of 100 times, when a woman says that now, she is using it to get an advantage and it is bullshit (and I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE PAST WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT PEOPLE DO TO ARGUE AGAINST THIS- THEY RUN INTO THE PAST).

I have seen men in suits that are meant to emphasize their shapes as there are many different cuts for suits. For example, Slim Fit and European cut suits are made to accentuate the shoulders and the waist. Regardless, when a woman gets dressed she shouldn't have to worry about being groped and harassed by a bunch of boys who haven't learned self control. Contrary to popular belief most women do not think about what men think when they get dressed nor should they have to.

Here's the thing-women that say they don't want to be looked at sexually and dress in a way that's exposing parts of their body in a way that, i.e., cleavage, high heels to show off legs/ankles, that aren't required, they're lying. If you're dressed truly conservatively, then yes, you probably don't want to be leered at, but as Anthony said, it is animal instinct, looking is normal. Of course that doesn't mean attacking someone physically, but looking? Oh grow the fuck up.

Jim is 100% wrong on this. At 25 he basically said anything the woman defined as harassing was harassment. Imagine what he'd say if somebody suggested that whenever somebody was offended that the material was offensive and should be prohibited. Also, how can one be considered "attractive" (as Lexi wanted to be) without wanting to be sexually attractive? I was unaware that we had other standards for judging attractiveness amongst humans. A guy she views as above her=flirting. Beneath=harassment.

There is a clear difference between a Co-Worker and a Boss/Authority Figure committing Sexual Harassment. The biggest one is, it is a Feloy and considered Rape by Authority, and Rape by Instrumentation for a Boss to Harass an Employee. A Co-Worker is just trying to find an equal Partner in a Relationship. If the Co-Worker only flirts (you look great in that dress, it really shows off your eyes), its not Sexual Harassment, if its Sexualizing the Co-Worker (That dress shows off your great ass), then its wrong.

I don't think I quite agree with Ant, but the reason isn't because I think we need to "be more civilized." If Sam were to go into work and tickle Ant's crotch or offer to sit on his lap (which would be a likely scenario) Ant would be disgusted. Same as if Lady Di tried it during her "internship," which she kind of did. He wouldn't want to be flirted with because he's not there to do that. On the other side, if a hot woman were to do that with him I wouldn't doubt for a second he'd pick up the opportunity, but that's my second point: men and women are NOT the same.
