The second instalment of the Orange 329 Quiver Killer.
This short video is about taking the 329 to J-Tech, a suspension expert in Shrewsbury, UK. We have the front and rear suspension dyno'd, serviced, bushings worked, RaceOnly Progressive springs and the NSR Racing Charger damper/Super Deluxe Piston kit installed.

Don't get used to it! haha! Seriously though, hopefully the ball is rolling now and content should be more regular. It's been a mission moving to the farm, doing other jobs to pay the bills and starting this whole project - but I think I'm past the worst of the faff and the Italian bureaucracy and can get on with the fun bike stuff!

Love seeing this insider look at suspension tuning and hearing all the little improvements J-tech makes! Properly tuned suspension really makes such a massive difference especially when pushing the bike hard. Did you end up going for the 350lb/in spring instead of the 400lb/in? By doing this to achieve your desired sag you’d be adding ~28lb of preload force. What are your thoughts on how this affects the bike compared to running the higher spring rate with 1mm (~1.5%) less sag?

Good vid. Interested to see how that 3D printed part holds up. I would have thought the load was very high there for 3D printed plastic component

Hi Tom. You're absolutely right. We use a material called Onyx. It's a nylon based material which is filled with carbon fibre strands. So it's very strong for a 3D printed part. We did some destructive testing on these and they deformed at around 20,000 N. For comparison, a 800lb/in spring on a 3" stroke shock will effect a force of around 10,000N on the spacer at bottom out. We've not tested other 3D print materials, but would expect your theory to be close to the truth. Maybe Paul will prove us wrong though, he's good at breaking things! 😂
