I love orange and chocolate, that flavour combination always reminds me of my childhood at Christmas time when my parents would give us terrys chocolate oranges in our stockings and on Christmas eve my dad would buy these boxes of chocolates with his favorite orange cream chocolates in them and he would share them with me and my brothers. Ahh nostalgia. Pretty great how just simple flavours can bring back such nice memories (:
Ingredients: ¼ cup of Vegetable Oil ¾ cup of Milk ½ cup of Granulated Sugar 2 Tsp of Baking Powder ½ tsp of Salt 1 ¾ cups of All Purpose Flour 1 Envelope of Vanillina or 1 tsp of Vanilla Extract 2 Eggs 2 tsp of Orange Zest 1 Cup of Chocolate Chips For the Topping: 1/3 cup of All Purpose Flour ¼ cup of Brown Sugar ¼ cup of Granulated Sugar ¼ cup of Unsalted Butter, cold and cut into small cubes
i just made it! OMG never have had a muffin so good in my life! Since i bake and cook so much i usually only take 1 bite of my final products and give the rest to friends and family but after 1 bite i had to eat the whole muffin! AMAZING major props laura!!
Cupcakes are usually made with a light, cakey batter that that tends to have more eggs/fat that has a consistant texture throughout (making the batter cakey). Muffins are more dense in their texture with more dryer ingredients (bran, oats, fruit, flour etc.)! You can use it that way to determine the difference, or you can just say muffins are simply confused cupcakes! :P

In the UK we have these things called Terry's chocolate oranges which are pieces of chocolate infused with orange in the shape of an orange and separated into orange segments. It is literally the best thing ever.

Hi Laura!! I just finished eating a muffin, and its delicious the orange zest makes them tasty:))) my son is wheat intolerant so I have to substitute to glutenfree and its still delicious!!!! thank you!!
I usually do this babys once a week, mostly on sundays. and my nephews love them. Also I drizzle a little bit of melted Dark chocolate over the top, just to decorate and it gives them a little extra kick. But I' ll definitely try your topping that looks incredibly delicious

I've made brown sugar before by mixing a little molasses into some white sugar. But if you don't have molasses you can probably just leave out the brown sugar altogether. I've seen streusel topping recipes that don't call for brown sugar!

Laura, you should try Terry's chocolate orange! It's orange flavoured chocolate and it is THE best chocolate that I've ever tasted. Absolutely delicious!
