Orange Cream Tres Leches Cake Recipe | Arunima Bakes
Ingredients:
Orange Cake:
Curd - 1/2 cup
Orange Juice - 1/2 cup
Orange Zest - 1/2 Tsp
Powdered Sugar - 3/4 cup
Orange Essence - 1 tsp
Melted Butter - 1/3 cup
All Purpose Flour - 1 1/4 cup
Cornflour - 2 tbsp
Baking Powder - 1 Tsp
Baking Soda - 1/2 Tsp
Salt - a pinch
Three Milk Mixture:
Milk - 1/2 cup
Orange Zest - 1/2 tsp
Fresh Cream - 1/4 cup
Condensed Milk - 1/4 cup
Whipped Cream To Finish - As required
Instructions:
1. Take a kadhai, place a stand and cover with lid. On high heat preheat kadhai for 15 minutes.
2. In a mixing bowl add in all wet ingredients till orange essence and mix well.
3. Sieve through the dry ingredients on top of the wet ingredients and mix well until the batter looks smooth and lump free.
4. Grease a 7 or 8 inch square mould with oil/butter and pour the entire batter into it.
5. Place mould into the preheated kadhai and cover it. Then let it cook for 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
6. Let the cake cool down completely.
Meanwhile add in orange zest in 1/2 cup milk and let it soak for 30 minutes.
7. Sieve the milk, the milk should now have a subtle orange flavour.
8. Into the milk, add in fresh cream and condensed milk. Mix well.
9. Now place the cake in another mould that is bigger. Poke holes with a fork in the sponge and pour the three milk mixture so that it soaks into the sponge nicely and save little for plating.
10. Cover and refrigerate the cake for sometime so that the milk mixture soaks into the cake fully.
11. Then frost with orange flavoured whipped cream, slice and serve with more milk mixture.
