Lovely. I too think this is the right way. Never understood what benefit does creaming the butter and sugar give to a cookie. Rubbing butter with flour makes it rich and flaky which is what we want.
@@arunimabakes oh so it has a name!! We use this technique in all sorts of indian reciepes to make things "Khasta". Just tried it today for my kids and it came out wonderful. Just like how indians love it dry and crispy. The butter-sugar creaming method often results in soft and chewey cookies which is not appreciated by us.

Made it today. Really amazing, fluffy, light and flavorful cake. I made a small tweak. Since I ran out of Vanilla essence, I added saffron and cardamom powder. The whole kitchen smelled divine.
