Great video, I think you've nailed it on your appraisal. The more I ride, the more I think EMTB is the way to go. I'm on my 3rd E-Bike now having learned some lessons the hard way about what fits you and what doesn't. My Wild FS has been a major indulgence, but I bought it for surviving a nasty episode of Covid 19 and turning 60 this year.
I've one ordered in large.... I was surprised at the sizing because I've fathom E3+ in large and I find it too big. I tried the X large Wild FS as that was what the bike room had at the time and I found it the same size as the large fathom. So I put a deposit on the large they have coming in. So I'd recommend sitting on one before just going with your regular size! Also, I found the motor on the wild FS way more natural than the Yamaha motor in the giant fathom. Great video... Thanks, Cat! 💚
Great review of the Wild FS! I had actually considered getting one of these before I found out about the Orbea Rise. For me the Rise seemed a better choice for the hills in my area. Plus I figured the lighter bike would be easier for me to handle than the heavier ones. And one thing that bothered me about the Wild FS was the battery charge port. It seems they have this flimsy little rubber cover for it whereas the Rise has a nice firm plastic locking door mechanism. I think the charge port was also more difficult to reach on the Wild. I saw a Rise in person for the first time today at my local bike shop. It was so beautiful. Makes me even more excited to get the one I ordered. Although it won't arrive until July. :(
I ordered the Wild back in February. Was told it would arrive by June. No sign yet. Apparently the orders are months behind. My lbs has 20 Orbea eBikes on order for rental that are five months late and still no wiser as to when they will arrive. Any word on your Rise Brendan?
Get one they are brilliant....I ride the M10 with upgrade to fox factory and is also carbon. Sell your Rallon and buy a wild. My mate has Rallon and has also bought a wild...he is selling the Rallon!
I never thought an ebike would be so good, climbs are enjoyable , descents are amazing. My local trails are 'Scotland' with loads of big climbs. The Wild FS takes the pressure off going up make descending even better, i'll never look back !
Hi Cat, great review! I saw your video on the Rise and it inspired me to order one from Ross in Bikeology. Should have it in the coming week or so and very excited to say the least! :D
Thank you for these videos. I have been looking around for the right eMTB for me for a while now, and really think I have it down to 2 models of each Specialized and Orbeo brands. I am torn between a few versions of each in the alloy frame. Although I only have one secondary dealer around here that sells Orbeo, there a quite a few which support specialized. I am looking to purchase later this year, but thanks for the info!
Great review thanks. I have an h25 model on order. Wasn't sure what size to go for but have ordered a large as they seem shorter reach. I normally ride medium bikes. Those trails look fun too. 👍
Ah congrats you will absolutely love it, such a class bike! And I’d say you’ll be good with the large too. Let me know how you get on and thank you for the lovely comment!
pick your own colour eh? i want to bike wrap for someone next bike. must have hot pink..... unicorn and/or cat (long hair kitten) graphics. as for the rest of your review, thumbs up! you give you a lot tech detail, and 'real world detail' how it fits and feels. good pair.
Good video I have owned a wild very capable bike but comes with a lot off issues. I pre ordered rise back in October my Mteam has been delayed till July 😭😭 If orbea bring a new wild out and rectified the issue i could be tempted on a new wild
Personally I would go with the Kenevo but that’s just because the bike gave me so much confidence. I loved the sizing and geometry and also the suspension set up. The Wild FS is also an amazing bike and I’d be stoked to be riding that either but the Kenevo just swung it for me.
The format of the videos is nice, but the quality of the footage while riding is very bad, hard to watch. This is for sure an area to improve for a RU-vid channel :) also in the audio is hear detect some spikes in dB which can be annoying. Good further and don't forget to improve on those if you want the channel to grow
Hi Paul, thanks so much for the feedback. Yeah I used an IPhone for the voiceover so it’s prob not the best. As for the quality of the footage I record with a Gopro 8 set to 1080p and 24fps and it’s good when I have the video ready to upload but when it goes onto RU-vid it seems to degrade. If you’ve any tips please let me know. Thanks a mill. Cat
@@CatMTBPilot hey Cat, there are a few mtb RU-vid channels with great video quality recording :BKXX, Nate Hills etc. Usually they use a chest mount and sometimes a gimbal , but with the gopro 9 many are giving up the gimbal. Nate is the best imo as he is using also a drone and has all the time someone in front of him. As a viewer I think this is the best scenario :2 angles - your pov go rpo and someone recording you while riding behind you on the trail. Bkxc just posted his gear and settings bkxc.bike/camera-gear. There are some crappy riders and pretty annoying also like Paul the punter, but they have great video quality =)) I am referring just to the video recording not the topics etc. Steady footage - someone stationery filming you riding parts of the trail and than editing everything togheter with your pov etc is the best. There are also huge mtb channels /magazines with crap footage. Regarding upload you need to do a bit of research and maybe contact Google also for help. I tried only a few times uploading some mtb, guitar, cooking footage and all wre heavily compressed so as I am lazy I gave up :))
Thanks a mill for the tips will definitely take those on board! Interesting about the chesty, will definitely try that. I won’t be affording a drone or a gopro 9 for the moment so will stick to the 8!
@@CatMTBPilot oh ok, but it’s all an Update in the firmware, u r good at this RU-vid stuff keep it going #eMTBLife 😜 I got my SANTA Cruz Bullit on order
