This looks fantastic! The final part of the video made me think that it would be really cool if you included a little Bloopers section at the end, just a few bits during the application/removal process, when your brother was giggling or making faces :)
I've been following you since you did only zombies and I loooove to see how much you've grown and gotten so so so amazing. You're definitely my inspiration
I love your videos!! they are so interesting and unique. What I find the most incredible is the way you explain things step by step and also explain how to remove it at the end!! Truly an amazing artist who wants her fans to understand everything and not just watch for the heck of it!!
I'm sorry this is so late! I thought I'd have time to edit at the end of October before I headed over to Sydney, but forgot that I needed to spend quite a bit of time running prosthetics to take with me for the RU-vid pop up space and for IMATS (and about 30 prosthetics for a class I was teaching early November). I don't own a laptop so I couldn't edit while I was in Syd for three weeks, but to be honest I was so busy each day, being out of the house for 13 to 17 hours each day, that I wouldn't have had time to edit anyway. Now I'm back home, and will finish getting through the Halloween ones in time for Xmas :'D
I understand the panic but its always gonna look like a shit storm until you get into the final 25% of the paint up. Its like landscaping a garden. Looks like a muddy shitehole and then slowly you see it come together. You aced that paint job and it looked like you have been painting foam for years. Perfect application of prosthetics too. Fucking awesome work,
This looks AMAZING!! sometimes prosaide cream looks a bit too shiny and shrinks often so I learned from Michael Spitola that you can blend the edges with a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and spirit gum, and you don't have to wait for the cream to dry!
Man I love watching the videos you do the looks on Daniel, he's a such a little cupcake and makes the funniest faces. Also though I reckon this is one of your best looks, really REALLY well done. :)
Amazing! I love your content, I just wish you gave us stuff more often! Even small tutorials on basic bruises, cuts and scrapes in addition full makeups. Again, I love your work and I really want to see more ☺️☺️✌🏽️🌸
that is freaking awesome I loved screen team Prosthetics are extremely amazing. I had use the clown one for a client this year. But it's too bad that my little brother has never been in my makeup chair. And I would really really like to turn him into a monster because he acts like one LOL
If this helps, I know regular latex can be dissolved with acetone, I have used that method while applying latex bald caps and prosthetic pieces before and it works very well :)
Love this! You are right on time, I just purchased some Pax Paints and needed a full beginning to end look at the process of painting foam latex. Can you do a foam latex tutorial with the airbrush machine, I'd be interested in seeing what you do differently. xoxo
Wow! You did a fantastic job! Especially for your first time! The edges were incredibly well blended! Welcome back from your trip :) seems like you had quite the adventure and learned a lot! :D Alrighty question time: How do you select bald cap sizes? I purchased a medium for my project last weekend and spent so long trimming it because it was way to big:p. Do you ever have issues removing prosaide from the skin? I always have issues getting it off my skin. I let the remover soak in then buff it off in circles with a Q tip, but prosaide seems to dissolve into my skin (and take hours to remove). Any ideas how to prevent this? Lol baby poop XDpoor Daniel XD. Those ears are so cool!! I love them! I noticed when he grinned that the pax paint cracked and revealed the foam latex. Does this always happen with pax paints? Or can it be prevented by applying thinner layers or something? Also, how well does creme paint and alcohol paint apply over pax paint? Fantastic finished look! I hope you do more monsters on your channel! :D
Hey Witte! Thank you :D I haven't had too much trouble with sizes because both cap plastic and latex are fairly stretchy, but I also haven't done it on a tonne of different people yet. I think it's better for the bald caps to be too long though because they're fairly easy to trim, whereas if it's too short then you can't use it D: Yeah I've had issues before on my skin where after a day at comic con it just did not want to budge, so I try one remover to the next to see if anything will work better. Usually if my skin gets irritated I will leave on some residue and just remove it the next day. But putting down skin barriers before the makeup application can definitely help the skin not to get as irritated from the removers and removal process. I think it's just because those bits weren't painted when it stretched out, so I could get him to make those expressions and fill it in. But yeah the acrylic paint element of pax can make it a bit flaky, which is why the pigment based ones (like thomas's) are a bit better. I used cremes because I didn't want to put alcohols or (hard to remove) PAX over his eyelids or lips, and I think because it was mostly his skin around those areas (especially around the eyes) I didn't notice anything weird. I think the PAX forms a physical barrier between the foam and the other paints so they're not absorbed into the foam, but yeah I didn't notice anything too bad doing it :)
Freakmo :D Very true with the baldcap sizing. Well drat! If you ever find a remove all perfectly, you let me know XD. What product have you had the best luck for removing prosaide with then? When you say put down a barrier do you mean like fixative spray or something? I see. So if you keep the pax paint thin and fill in the cracks created by emoting , it shouldn't flake off too badly? Well it's super cool that you can put alcohol paint over pax! :D thanks for answering all my questions :) I appreciate it! Oh I figured you'd be happy to know I have now made 4 original molds of my gore prosthetics and have about 7 useable pieces I made using the information you have taught me ^.^. So thank you! I'm going to paint and apply one hopefully tomorrow :)
Hey, there can you help me out there, I created a Halloween scary jaw by cutting an old scary kid mask and sculpted some homemade prosthetics made from a Vaseline mixture. I wonder how can I glue it onto my chest to hold strong if I don't have the glue you had? I can't find it anywhere sadly. Is it paper UHU glue can hold enough or any idea?
When you're painting a foam prosthetic, is it okay if you paint the undertone layer and just paint the skin layer with alcohol paints or airbrush paints? I only have red to make the blood layer of the skin texture but i have alcohol and EBA airbrush paints because unfortunately, i ran out of my pax paint. If someone can help, it would be appreciated.
I usually make my own cap plastic ones (waay cheaper, but much more time consuming), but I had this latex one on the shelf for a while and thought I may as well use it and apply it with the foam latex prosthetics for something different. I bought this one from Frends Beauty. I have only tried making a latex bald cap once and it turned out hella lumpy lol, I'll need to try again.
Ooh it did take a while, hmm maybe 2 - 3 hours? The bald cap always adds on a chunk of time for me. It's surreal that people can apply and paint these in 45 mins for haunts :D
