This kid was MVP of the 2018 CWS. Batted .419 for the year. Had 16 or 17 hits in the CWS. Switch hitter. Broke Michael Conforto's all time hit record at OSU. Throws runners out with ease. Has two in-the park home runs. Platys first base well. He is a complete package.
over the last 2 months, he has improved in the majors so so much. i was hesitant at first, but he is proving to already be a beast!!!! I love him. GO O'sssss!!!!!!
He won't be a catcher for too long. He has 3rd base written all over him. They're not going to let a kid who can switch hit for average and power sit behind a dish ruining his knees for the next 10 years.
Except for the fact that his fielding at catcher is considered his best trait. He wasn’t drafted for his hitting which he is wasn’t the best at in the draft but his fielding hence the comparisons to Buster Posey
It Is Not Josh Fair enough, I just think if they moved Harper from catcher, they may with this kid. Generally teams will wait for a kid with a surname of Molina to turn up to play catcher. 😂
I'm not getting too excited here in Baltimore because they hyped up Matt Wieters for years and he turned out to be a dud. Wieters was also a first round pick #5 overall. I'll take Hoiles 19th round and Tettleton 5th round over Wieters and Rutschman any day.
He’s tan ultra rare talent. Not only is he an catcher who plays stellar defense but he has the rare catcher combination of great defense and can hit with power to all sides of the field. Add to the fact that he can switch hit and he’s pretty much a one of a kind. Orioles got one of the best prospects in a long time.
Remember watching the college playoffs last year so I could see nick Madrigal play. Madrigal played well. But I remember thinking I would rather have this guy over any other player I watched.
What I saw in this video is that the dude is a stud and he’s gunna find a way to get on. It looked like his main focus was all about getting the bat to the ball and not speeding anything up but just getting the bat on plain and doing his jobs!
Blake Yokeley probably only way they don’t take him is if they decide to go cheap with there first pick so they can sign guys for overslot money later in the draft. But this guy is just to good
No doubt he’s a great hitter but in my opinion, he lacks catching skills the throws were too high and the blocking was bad I need to see more bc I don’t want to believe this myself but that’s what I’m going off of
