Meiteis have never occupied nor ruled the Hills of the present Manipur. The Hill people have never been subjects of the Meitei kings. Rather, the Kuki chiefs simetimes helped the Meitei kings and saved them from outside forces. The Meitei Kings in return gave some lands inside their kingdom for the Kuki chiefs to live and so that they be safe from attacks by other tribes or community. However, the Kuki chiefs never ever gave their lands to the Meiteis. This is why the meiteis never ever lived in the kuki hills. Unfortunately, after the britist came, they included the Kuki hills and the Naga Hills under the administration of the Manipur state. This is how the hills of the present manipur became part of manipur politically and how the meiteis start living, in some pockets, in the Hills. But till now they (meiteis) don't have the right to buy lands in the hills of manipur. Those meiteis who live and claim to have plots of land and houses in the hills are illigal (unconstitutional) dwellers (or illigal immigrants?)! Because they are not entitled to buy land and live in the hills constitutionally.
The Hills were never a part of the Meitei Kingdom. They were ruled independently by the hill tribes(Naga+Kuki). This is evident from the History of Assam Rifles.

Every religion have their own origin history written records. The depth of Manipur history can be known through deep studying like "Royal Chronicle of Manipur" Cheitharol Kumbaba Where during each timeline it describes how different communities flourishes in "KINGDOM OF KANGLEIPAK" now MANIPUR . It describes the timeline of the migration , their purpose of entry, who permitted to entry in Manipur then.
Manipur was never kangleipak, kangleipak is a very old name derived from meitei dialect while manipur is a new term derived from sanskrit which is a unify name with tribal lands and populations. The meaning "Kangleipak" itself is dry land which is only the plain areas where meitei people settled. 20:06 The Ministry of Tribal Affairs wrote to the Manipur government on May 29, 2013, requesting a specific recommendation on the inclusion of Meiteis in the ST list. These documents nor any request to include the Meiteis in the ST list has ever been submitted by any government in Imphal. So the ST demand committee file a PIL. The ST demand has been pending since the last 10 years. Manipur HC did not have the right to provide ST status to any community. The ST demand can be provided by the State/ Union Territory is by a notified order of the President of India after checking a long lists of different criteria. The HC of Manipur recommended the government of Manipur to submit the request as it has been a long pending request. It's not ST status milgaya or milne wala tha. It was just a recommendation. But HC recommendation was not the main reason for the conflict between Meiteis and Kukis. I appreciate your work. However please work more harder. Because little learning is dangerous when it comes to history.
A simple correction. Kukis were not hill tribe as describe in the video. They were nomadic tribes, who had migrated from yunan province of china some 500 yrs ago. Then spread thoughout the region in due course of time. World historians describe them as the lost tribe of Israel. Further study is suggested so that the viewers get the truth.

Animistic way of life is the identity of tribals. In fact these are the owners of this land, India that is Bharat. These people had created Sind civilization before Aryans entered this land. These Aryans slowly changed the culture of the origins and became what now they call Hindu. Hindu deities are new to both the origins and Aryans. Christian missionaries do not uplift communities only to make them Christians. No developmental projects & education institutions are set up in hill districts of Manipur. Meiteis have 40 MLAs out of 60 seats and frame any law against hill tribe as they are the single largest majority by virtue of more MLA in the state assembly.They burned state library in which many books/ history of the kuki were kept so that faults history can be propagated.
