The Bandai OCG was almost always sold out back then (yes, scalpers were hitting the gacha carddass machines 22 years ago). If the Konami Duel Monsters game for gameboy didn't sell like it did Bandai would still be running Yu-Gi-Oh! Also fun little fact, some of the cards from the Bandai OCG made their first appearance there instead of the Manga. You could pull a Red Eyes Black Dragon as a real card before it was even introduced in the story a few weeks later.

Horned Imp was the other imp's name, Miho was the name of the blue haired girl and it's possible that Konami might do special re-prints of the Bandai cards. At the end of the day Kazuki Takahashi is the one behind the franchise, so yeah if there is money to be made, Konami and Bandai could consider working together on that. Japanese companies do tend to work together for neutral benefit quite a lot as the country itself does tend to do that and work close to home with it's own companies, not to say that they don't work with foreign companies because they do that as well.

The first card is Gorgon which is a combined form of the three Hecate monsters. They were in one episode of season 0 and had much better stats than the cards shown here. 3:21 is called Horn Imp in the TCG 3:50 is called Kojikocy in the TCG, it's one of Joey's cards 4:36 is called Megazowler in the TCG 5:58 is called Torike in the TCG 6:38 - 6:52 here are the Hecate monsters previously mentioned Yellow Hecate, Red Hecate, and Violet Hecate 7:35 is called Metal Guardian, it's one of Panik's monsters 9:08 it appears to be just regular Shadow Ghoul but the art and pose is used for Wall Shadow in the TCG 11:23 is called Blackland Fire Dragon in the TCG, it's the very first monster Yugi plays in the Duel Monsters anime when playing against Joey at school 11:43 the name is read Chimera which means it could be an early form of Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast although it doesn't have the snake head tail 14:03 you were unintentionally right the first time because it's name in the OCG is Gargoyle Nice opening, really cool to see these cards

If I remember correctly, the text is not an effect most of the time but one of the 13 rules the game had. Few cards had effects

Red Eyes Black Dragon, Blue Eyes White Dragon, Black Skull Dragon, Meteor Black Dragon, Exodia pieces, Dark Magician and the rest of the holos are expensive af. In fact, the rarest cards to find from the Bandai sets are Gate Guardian and Blue Eyes White Dragon 3-Body Connection (Single card version).

Horned Imp is the name of Yugi's other imp and Mega Zowler is Rex's other triceratops dinosaur. And I think that Bonz card is Armored Zombie. The other dragon is Black Land Fire Dragon, I know that from the Yugioh GX Manga oddly enough. Its amazing yet weird to see these. Baby Dragon here as 2000 ATK but Thousand Dragon is only at 2100? I do wish they brought over some of the other cards, like that Crescent Moon Knight or I know there's even a card called Aphrodite. Really cool to see!

Your a good youtuber and a great host/narrator ! It was a good step to have your face in the bottom left of the screen , but one thing you could do that I think would engage casual views and hardcore fans is haveing a price on some of the rarer cards ! It’s an interesting extra and is used well on other channels like Maxmoefoe when he opens Pokemon cards. I know so many people who just watch him to see what the most expensive card he pulls is ! Otherwise your a good channel and cracking content !

I totally want to get my hand on this piece of history. But I do wonder what the heck was Bandai on making these cards designed this way and even adding characters as cards. I think even the rules are crazy, but I would still love to have them.

I would love it if Bandai would sell Konami the rights to the original art. some look so interesting. Except the backgrounds, they could be revamped haha. Apparently the blue haired girl wasn't even prominent in the original manga, but they decided to make her part of the main cast and shoehorned her into the story more in season 0. Some odd choices were made back then haha.

Great stuff, try to get some of the foil cards, they look amazing, very different from the Konami foils. Time Wizard and Polymerization are my favourites
