I want to love mine, cause it is a really unassuming yet awesomely execute piece. I like the dial with the clean look yet texture, even the minimalist date window (I have the blue one). But the bracelet is killing it. My wrist tends to change in size a lot over the day, the bracelet is either too tight or too loose. Now comes the real killer though, I have two official oris replies stating that it is 20mm lug width, however, of the 7 or 8 20mm straps I tried, only one fit! And that's after replacing the quick change bars with normal ones. Calipers measures 19,5mm and 19,6mm. In addition I can't fit some of the 19mm rubber straps I bought afterwards because the horns are so short. The overall design is great for me, the calibre 400 awesome, but this whole issue makes me regret getting it and I am now trying to sell it, because there are frankly a ton of people out there with the "omg printed indeces" etc attitude... Can't even sell it at 2900€...
Thanks for sharing ownership experience. I was guessing if you buy this it has to live on the bracelet. But never knew about the short lug issue with some straps. And in general Oris usually don't hold up well in the used market. Not many brands do except some exceptions.
@@EscapementWatch well, to be fair, most reviewers don't have the opportunity to take of the bracelet. Also if you can make the bracelet work for you it is awesome, the airplane clasp on this one is way better because it is integrated compared to the ProPilot bronze (which I also have). The thing about the straps is, anything a bit thicker will catch onto an edge on the case underneath the bracelet end and create additional wear. It is not extremely bad but noticeable, so curved spring bars are nice.
I love the case design and the bracelet, Oris has confidence in the movement design for 10 years service and warranty as you say. But that dial lets the show down for my taste. It's at odds with the dynamic case being just a bit too flat for me. Oris do some stunning dials (Aquis sunburst or the cal 403 pointer date with applied markers?) so maybe in the future we'll get some more options. Great review and thanks for sharing. It's good that it looks like they have fixed the cal 400 minute jump although I've never really had an issue with mine winding back a few mins when setting but it's great that Oris listen.
This just doesn’t do it for me 😔 I’m not sure who makes the movement for Oris, but i hope they fixed the movement issue. In the end, the watch is ok - but it’s just not appealing to me. The Limited edition Lake Baikal on the other hand 👍😎
Fixed. That does imply was broken. I'm sure they are not working it like that. "Upgrade" no doubt. So if you have the older none upgrade you will ultimately get penalised more when selling as people will want the upgraded version.
that's how they do it on this one. Because of the latch system. It is easier to put on like this. Similar to how the straps with deployant clasps are put on like this.
I'm sure its quality, i do understand the titanium feel but printed indices and finishing on those hands are not 4k worth imo of course. All subjective. Great Vid.
Oris, great brand. This is a hard pass for me. Yes the movement is top notch, but the overall look and dial seems far from premium and what the asking price is going for. They should try and make this one in steel and maybe with a touch of polishing.
I considered this exact model, they even offered me a 20% discount on the spot, but the reflectiveness of the glass is too damn high for a watch at that price point. They're miles away from even the entry models from e.g. Breitling. Very unfortunate...
@@EscapementWatch idk just not a big fan of the HUGE slabs on the endlink , a bit more detail or depth would've given it a whole different look. I really love the look of the watchhead alone tho
It is the worst, ugly, cheap feel, watch from Oris... in the last years. they would be a shame for that. Instead, they would make a green, black, white... Aquis GMT.
