It's because the accent is so strong in such a young child. It is unusual for the accent to be so strong already but it shows the baba is listening and learning at quite an advanced rate.
Aww very cute. Lighten up guys, I thought this was going to be a baby from elsewhere too but I think it’s about how funny and young they are to have that Scouser dialect! Baby can’t even talk but makes baby sounds with the scouser accent. Cute, It was a lockdown story too?!
That's delightful, but so natural. Of course she imitates the speech of her family. 2. Did you know that newborn babies recognize the speech (or similar speech) they heard in the womb? For example, Italian newborns accept Italian and Spanish, but they can tell German is unfamiliar.
It's baby that doesn't know how to talk, instead in there babbling stages. Babbling doesn't usually have accents, It's there talkling stages they usually learn the accent. This baby babbling is mimmicing the tones.
I had a thick Boston accent as a baby and young child. It wore off eventually but as an adult a word or two will sometimes come out. Im Canadian and never been to Boston in my life 😂
No, this isn't all important news, but it put a smile on a lot of people's faces, and let's be honest, that's quite rare these days that so many people agree on something being funny and cute.
finally a positive comment ❤ i don't know why people are pretending like they don't know why it's gone viral. how often do people see an infant with a scouse accent 😂
So baby from Liverpool has a Liverpool accent and this is news, You might want to run a report on me I was born in London and Surprise surprise, I had a London accent
All children mimic the accent of their mother tongue because that is the accent they here most often. And that is why it is called the mother tongue is called mother tongue.
Fuck me…they had to get an “expert” on to explain a child raised in an area where they speak a certain way by parents who speak a certain way is speaking that certain way? How is this news? How thick do they think people are?
😂 my sister is called Orla but spelled Órlaith but pronounced the same and yes it’s Irish (we are Irish ) and yes I thinks she’s the smartest of us all 🤣 but come on a child speaking in the accent where the child is from is not worthy of a news article it’s crazy to me that there’s professors on this clip explaining it 😂😂 my children have Irish accents that’s not shocking they’re Irish 😅
That is her aunt, not her mum. I’m an Aussie and I can hear even the upwards inflection in her babble that makes her sound like a good friend of mine from Liverpool. So cute 🥰 My son didn’t sound this Australian at this age.
People are so easily entertained nowadays. Her parents are Scouse so it's obvious she'll be mimicking their speech patterns. It's like being shocked that a baby raised in Scotland with Scottish parents suddenly starts babbling with a Scottish brogue.
First saw the video on Instagram and thought it was adorable. Nice to have some lighthearted news for a change. Those who want the constant rolling doom and gloom, that will resume in a few minutes! 🙄

As a Southern American with British roots and who considers herself an Anglophile, I am very disappointed in some of these comments. All I see is a cute baby with a cute little accent. I don't know what the whole fuss is about. I didn't know that an accent could divide so many people and could lead adults to call a baby such vile names. I really did hold Brits to a higher standard than that and I'm not trolling when I say this.
the kinds of people who comment on anything news related on youtube are usually miserable and havent got anything better to do, a lot of these people in the comments are just full of hatred and theres not much that can be done about that sadly 🙁i can assure you most of us arent like this though, i thought this babys accent was adorable and im sure many others think so too
I never held the Brits to ANYTHING higher! They hold themselves higher than everyone else- for no good reason at all! The only reason they hate the Scouser accent so much is because of the Irish influence on the Scouse accent. But most Brits are so unaware of their own bigotry that they don't even know WHY they are so hateful towards Scousers. They just continue to blindly carry forth their bigoted, imperial, colonial attitudes.
It’s also a lamb stew from the Liverpool area, which is where the word comes from. A person from Liverpool is known as a scouser, ie someone who eats scouse. But yes, in this instance it is referring to the accent.
I’m in the USA so I don’t understand the big deal. Do her parents have a different accent from the child? Would this be equivalent to New York baby speaking with a USA southern accent?….
