Can you talk more about any hazards of brushing so quickly after eating? I’m worried about enamel erosion after eating acidic foods. For instance, would you recommend finishing each meal with some mild cheese before running off to brush and floss? There are some websites that provide the acidity of each food. Is this something we need to be concerned with? Thanks for these awesome videos.
Thanks for watching. Some research shows that it’s not a good idea to brush immediately after eating acidic foods. Acid weakens the enamel on your teeth, and brushing right away can actually harm the enamel further. It's better to wait about 30 minutes before brushing to give your saliva time to neutralize the acid and help protect your teeth. Many patients opt to rinse their mouths with water or use a water flosser after eating. If necessary, brushing can be performed after waiting for half an hour.
