I basically just got my aligners 3 days ago, and these videos are helpful, I learned new stuff, I’m still having lots of trouble removing them, specially the bottom one, and also, just prolonging the eating part, until necessary, LOL 8-27-2023
Great video, I learned so many tips that I didn’t hear about from my own orthodontist, especially the bit about using Tylenol instead of Motrin. Thanks for educating us. Your dumpster diving made me laugh 😂😬
just started the process today and im so glad i found ur channel. been looking like crazy for good info and so far this has been the best channel. so thank you:))
I which do have a year but I'm only have 3 weeks and new to all this so has been a bit hard to get just to it, I have to uses them for 21 weeks well my invisalings are up to 21.
Amazing and very informative. From my personal experience this is the most useful vedio regarding the instructions. I was searching youtube for such vedios for long time and this vedio is the best. I will advise everything single patient to watch this vedio if they want to have alginers. Once again, thank you and please yes I am looking for the elastic bands vedio 👍
04:55 💦 It cut out slightly. Just to confirm, *sparking water* is okay even though it has citric acid? That would be so cool! I’m on Day One (using your app too and love it!), and I can get my trays out, but *it takes me 5-10 minutes to get them to pop on.* 😆 I can’t find any tricks for this. Once in, they fit great, so it’s not that they’re a bad fit. I got Retainer Brite tablets, and maybe I was sent knock offs, because they have an awful chemical/formaldehyde smell. 🤢 I got a *sonic cleaner,* and I may just use that with a little hydrogen peroxide! Thank you soooo much for all the information you share with us!! 💕
Thanks for sharing your experience and for the kind words. Sparkling water is slightly acidic, especially if citric acid is added. If you’re very concerned about it, stick with just still water. Here’s a video you may find helpful: instagram.com/tv/CfKU76epwj6/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
Thank you so much for this very helpful video. I have 2 more questions : 1) You suggest to floss once a day. I would be more confortable to floss after each meal. Would it be ok to do so or would it be too much on my gum? 2) Should I use the cleaning tablets one a day? Thank you so much again.
Hi! You can floss more if you would like to. Just use a floss that grips the plaque and food and is gentle on your gums (nothing hurts more than floss snapping into gums!). Yes, you can use a new cleaning table daily or you can save the solution for up to 2-3 days. The generic tablets are quite inexpensive so using a new tablet isn’t a bad idea.
Thank you so much for all of these great videos! I am 58 and just in my fourth aligner now. Very pleased with this system.... so much to know about this amazing system. Just want to give a shout-out to Invisalign brand floss.... the best floss out there. I use it almost after every meal.
Thank you Doctor! I am an Invisalign patient with about 5 months more to go on my last leg of my treatment with Invisalign I am only now wearing. Rubber bands starting today. Wow what an truly frustrating experience. After dabbling around You Tube I will take some tips I learned and applied them to me. You are extremely beautiful by the way and have a gorgeous smile 😊. I hope I have added one of many smiles throughout your day! I can’t wait until all of my treatment is done with! I am definitely going to celebrate afterwards.
Thank you for your videos. They have been very helpful. I am going for a consultation with the orthodontist Monday and these vidoes have helped. I am a middle aged lady and really don't want traditional braces so hopefully invisalign will be an option for me. I know this will be a little uncomfortable too but don't think I will be able to handle the metal wires. Will also give me an idea of questions to ask.
I just started my journey 2 days ago, and I stumbled upon your channel yesterday. I binge-watched your videos this afternoon, and they are super insightful. Thank you so much for all of your videos. I started using your app before I found your channel, and I found it helpful to track the hours I wear my aligner. I have a question. If my last meal ends at 3 pm, should I take out the aligner and brush my teeth and aligner before bedtime again?
Thanks for watching and for commenting. If you did not brush after your last meal at 3, then it’s a good idea to brush before bedtime. Good luck with your treatment:)
@@mlah7810 no. that is perfectly fine. youll get more & better results with 22+ hrs, but 20 is sufficient enough. i wear mine for 22-23 hrs a day! i eat one meal a day. still brush & floss my teeth 2x a day & i soak my aligners once a day as well.
Don't you have to wait 30 min after eating to brush your teeth? Wouldn't that cut into the 2 hours of free aligner time? Doubling the time the trays can't be on your mouth since you have to brush and floss before putting them back in?
My teeth is spacing and uncomfortable so getting the aligners is more important to me than what it looks like. Also my health going forward to be able to chew safely.
Great Video!! Thank you!!! What are your thoughts on changing trays weekly or every 2 weeks? Please can you do a video to educate. I’d like to ask my orthodontist to change my treatment to a weekly tray change. Thank you!
Thank you for the nice comment. The treating orthodontist will determine the complexity of the tooth movement, age of the patient, and other factors to determine the rate of aligner change. Certain ortho movement require more time to achieve, such as segmental distalization with the use of elastics as anchorage. I can definitely do a future video to discuss those factors in detail. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@TrayMinder I did not hear any of this information from my doctor. At the very least your site should be. strong ly. recommended. for viewing. Thank you!!
Is it normal for the Invisalign retainers to make my jaw pop? I just started this week and I wake up in the morning with my jaw getting locked and pop when I move it
Thank you so much. This is great information and I love the app! One question I have is will the constant brushing and flossing after each meal damage my enamel? Also is it normal to have teeth sensitivity (hot/cold) increase with invisalign?
Great question. Sometimes just rinsing with water is sufficient unless you ate sticky sweet foods or crackers. Brushing should be postponed for 30 minutes after consuming acidic foods.
Really useful video as I’m about to start my aligners journey☺️ Quick question - I have an overbite, will aligning my teeth inwards alter the structure of my face? Thank you!
Your soft tissue profile (position of lips on the side view) may change slightly or moderately depending how much retraction is planned. In general, extractions will produce the most significant change. Retraction of teeth with just elastics is negligible unless your upper incisors are severely flared.
I am getting Invisalign in 1 week. Since trays should be worn 22 hrs a day, I am concerned about time for brushing teeth. Since our teeth are demineralized straight after eating, we should wait for about 20 minutes to brush them, what do you suggest in this case? There is not much time left for waiting for so long after meals since the meals themselves take quite a significant time already. Thank you so much!
Great point. If you eat or drink acidic foods, it’s best to wait 30 minutes before brushing. You can always opt to rinse with plain water or water with baking soda in lieu of brushing and then wear your aligners. Of course, if you ate sweet sticky foods, it’s best to rinse and brush.
Hello thank you for your awesome videos I am on my second day of Invisalign and I am in pain and I will do some of the chewing exercises that you mentioned and your other videos I’m just wondering if limiting the times we remove the trays per day help to lessen pain when I remove them ? Yesterday I took them off three times to eat but today I decided to just only take them out twice just wondering if this would help with the pain and will improve my tracking thank you so much !
I’m glad to hear that the videos have been helpful for you. Yes, limiting the number of times you remove aligners will decrease the discomfort, at least for the first three days. You’ll likely start to feel better after three days. Good luck with your treatment.
Salt is fine. Lemon, depending on how much you use, does have some acid in it, which isn't great for the enamel on our teeth. Trace amounts probably won't make a huge difference. Please ask your doctor to be sure.
Where can I get the Chewie because I'm using envisaging and my doctor dd not mention anything about the Chewie but i want to do everything to success in this treatment I started to notice not a hole between my gaps, but the doctor mentions something else in the videos and I think i need the Chewie. I'm getting nervous and beyond because i don't want to take longer with this treatment because of the attachments that in my case and to me are really annoying. Doctor what you recommend me to do, I email my doctor, currently I'm in my three aligners and Thursdays I have to change it.
Thank you. I’m glad that you have found the videos to be helpful. I do not use either of the two products. I use the Invisalign full/comprehensive product because it allows for unlimited number of aligners to help with alignment and bite correction. As an orthodontic specialist (2-3 years of additional training in orthodontics after dental school), I do not use the Invisalign Go product, as it is tailored to general dentists. Invisalign lite is also a product that has a set limit of aligners allowed, which I find to be too limiting. At the end of the day, it depends on the amount of correction you need and how picky you are. Good luck with your treatment.

How long after you eat should you wait to brush your teeth? I read if you do it immediately it can cause some problems. Should I wait 15 minutes after?
Yes, especially if you just consumed acidic foods. Use your best judgement. Sometime just a rinse with water is sufficient. Please check with your dental provider for their recommendations.
I just started Invisalign and I bought some efferent to clean my aligners, the denture tablets turns the water blue and I was wondering if that’s okay? I was scared that it might stain the aligners.
I have to say I stepped into this treatment quite naiv and I didnt get any proper Information. Seems I am gettin IPR and attachments. Pretty much concerned about that. Also that your gums will disappear.i am in my 40's and I am quite concered that lots of my roots will show. Can you tell me how risky this whole treatment is? I am thinking of ending it really? And just in case you wonder. I got some information... just turns out theres nothing that would help me.
Talk about your risks and benefits with your orthodontist to get the information you need to move forward. Also, your orthodontist would put you in touch with a gum specialist (periodontist) if you’re at risk. Good luck.
Some orthodontist prefer braces for extraction cases while others treat extractions with clear aligners. It depends on your specific case and your doctor’s philosophy.
