Some very smart words. I've seen the forest industry go from complete manual to fully mechanized. Everyone had to have the latest gear. We all cut our wood to pay for steel. Now we are back to small " Tonka toy gear" and cutting manually, making money and enjoying life. The smart ones do as you are. Keep your head low, control costs, focus on your marketing and growth. Keep your powder dry and pecker hard and itll be Allright.

The big carriers have their place. CDL schools give you about 50 percent of what you need to know to be a good driver. The major companies generally have pretty good training. It's a good place to start, at least for 3 to 12 months. Smaller companies often have little to no training, but usually give you a lot more freedom, responsibility, and pay.

i passed my hgv1 =your cdl in 1972 at the agec of 22 in the british RAF and now only drive p/t as i am now 73 but live in spain with my son and family he runs my company now we have 16 scania S770 V8s better than any usa truck

I carry a 7 pound bag of kitty litter in the winter. The granular kind, not the soft paper based stuff. Throwing a few handfuls on and under the drives is usually enough to get me moving. Throwing some on the ground behind the trailer might have kept it from sliding.

When I was with Schneider National years ago they were in 28 countries, he had 🚢 ships, rail, Qualcomm % and was in a lot other stuff. But today I don’t know what they are doing. Congratulations on the 100K.

Schneider was smart he figured after everything was paid fuel , wages , repairs, and licenses and insurance all he needed was $10 a day per truck with over 2,000 trucks that's a nice bit of profit per day add interest ....

Hey Steve, back in my detachable neck days, when I had that issue, I’d take a chain and binder, and hook to the deck and neck, and cinch it up a bit, which would raise the nose of the neck, just enough to make it a little easier to hook

Dude,You weren’t even born in the glory days of “Chicken trucking”. I got out of a COE in 82’ and never looked back. We put rookies in cabovers because they usually wrecked the conventionals. You had to work your way out of them.

We have tons of customers hauling hopper bottoms with aftertreatment and ELDs. I'm not sure the correlation there.

That truck is called a regenerative street sweeper. The vacuum section picks up dirt from the road The exhaust air from the vacuum is redirected back to the front of the suction section to dislodge dirt so the vacuum section can pick it up easily. The air just moves around in a circle thus the name regenerative.

Back when I first starting watching trucking videos, about 10 years ago, there was a young lady driving for PRIME in the reefer division, and as soon as she got a lot of subscribers to her channel PRIME did everything they could to get her off the road and into the office, she finally left PRIME, so they can't be that great a company. It's get so that you'll need one of those trailer with steerable wheels for some of these spots you get into.

Prime isn’t getting into hopper to go into fields. They have customers already that wanted them to do hoppers. Now if I worked prime hopper bottom I would be in the field during harvest
